Also, consider buying from Apple's refurbished stock, I bought an iMac 3 years ago for UK£700, down from the normal price of UK£1,100 and it is still going perfectly well today. In fact, you couldn't prise it away from my daughter for love nor money! Sell something and afford a Mac, your life will be heaps more enjoyable.
