  • The Golden Eggs Of Solar Energy [View article]
One thing I have always wondered about solar panels is what happens if there is a major breakthrough in solar efficiency technology, i.e., the percentage of the sunlight that strikes the panel that is converted into energy? Let's say the efficiency now is around 16%. I think I read that figure somewhere. And let's say there is a breakthrough increasing that conversion efficiency to say, 35%. What happens to the millions upon millions of old less efficient panels? -- the installed base? Are they all ripped out and thrown away into landfills? Or will they remain in place generating less power than current technology can achieve? Or have we reached the absolute maximum conversion efficiency like the speed of light is a maximum speed? Is it realistic to think that the efficiency of solar panels will not drastically improve? Just curious.

I'm gonna wait until it hits $55 to buy. There is too much giddy optimism in these posts. Plus, we are way overdue for a decent correction. Plus the
chart doesn't look real healthy. Like my buddy Warren says, "You pay a high price for a cheery consensus."

  • Level 3 Communications A Long-Term Gem In The Making [View article]
The key turning point is reaching positive cash flow so they can pay down debt. Once they pay down their enormous debt to reasonable levels and remove the sword of Damocles which has been hanging over them for so long, they will at least not have to worry about bankruptcy anymore and can relax a bit and let the business take its natural course. Also, with less debt, they become a more viable takeover candidate to the extent that is a possibility.

  • Clouds Over Omaha - Time To Sell Berkshire Hathaway [View article]
Buffett is a senile liberal who jumped the shark long ago. He is coasting on his legacy and basking in the idolatry of his sycophants. Berkshire is a sprawling, unwieldy conglomerate and an overpriced mediocre investment which will quickly become even more so once Buffett dies.

  • Plenty Of Upside Remains In ULURU, Inc. [View article]
I bought 500 shares of this stock many years ago when it was recommended by Oscar Schafer of OSS Capital on Barron's Roundtable. It was selling around $5/share. It then imploded and became a penny stock worth less than the $7 commission charge to sell it plus I had put it in my IRA so no writeoff. It then reverse split 1 for 15. I now have 33 shares and will break even once it reaches $75.75.
