ask jim cramer how many shares of that dog roundy's he bought?? he touted that stock and he did not do his home work... he just spouted out its high yield ... and never thought of the consequences.... that is one dog... thank you jim!
i see that the obama presidency is finally getting some of the credit for bailing out this behemoth... well the alternative was to let is slide and let the economy slide into oblivion.
Hudson City Bancorp: Concerns Are Overblown [View article]
What i like about Hudson CBK is the fact that it did not invest in sub-prime loans. That being said i feel that the downturn in banks in general became toxic for the entire industry. Several years ago i bought this stock at 15 and sold at 25 six months later. i was not disappointed. I feel that in the next month the European crisis will abate and slowly this bank will start to move forward. But i do believe it is a speculative play. Citibank is a speculative play.... Not Hudson city
Hudson City Bancorp: The Tale of Prime Defaults to Come [View article]
Hey i can t argue with your thesis. however, hudson operates in toney areas with high net worths. i am banking that while wealthy will get behind in their mortgages they rarely default. it hurts too bad. my thesis is that hudson will continue to survive because they did not put mortgages in areas that are not within their geography. ergo their bank while it may lose a loan or two, it wont be to the magnitude of the major players.
so jimbo is still in awe of lampert. well i regret not selling the stock at 175 and would have made a nice profit. but i was in full belief that he was going to be then next buffett and go to 1k in three years. next!!!!! or buy, buy buy.................. what do you think???
