Didn't the authors state that more patients in the rosiglitizone group had coronary artery disease and CHF and less use of beta-blockers and statins than the pioglitizone group at the time of index date? This may explain the descrepancy in the rates of mortality and CHF. Also, there was no difference in MI or stroke, contrary to the original meta-analysis that started this debate.
