Mark's assessment is spot on. He hasn't even mentioned the fact that MCP is very limited in the valuable heavy REE'S, real production is over a year out and major REE users such as Toyota are looking at replacement strategies for their future needs. Molycorp is all hype. They lack any significant heavy REE'S and are over a year away in limited production. Why do you think this mine was abandoned? Six months ago Toyota was already redesigning out their REE requirements, the WSJ reported Fri. this news as "breaking news". (dah). You have two choices: 1) Join the pump and dump groupies or short it.
Molycorp is not doubling anything but their marketing baloney. They are primarily a light REE mine abandoned by the US, and are simply using this fear tactic (97% China monopoly) to quadruple their share price (pump and dump). Their production will not materialize until 2012 and they are still constrained by processing, environmental and health issues, which is why it was abandoned in the first place.
