  • 3D Systems' Guidance Exceeds Estimates: Further Upside Ahead [View article]
Excellent summary, having grown up in the field of advanced manufacturing in Aerospace and programming multiaxis CNC machinery along with CAD/CAM, this is NOTHING NEW.
It's amazing how people in this field think they're leading edge and/or trans formative. IMO they are no more than marketing trolls looking for their next prey.

  • Selecting The Best Pharma And Biotech Funds [View article]
    John, well presented article.
If rlp2451 thinks the last six week gain will repeat in FBIOX good luck.
XBI is extremely volatile as you mentioned. It's top company also is ICPT.
I felt that a swing from 160 down to 140 then back up recently in a short period in XBI was too much. I've traded options with less vol.
Sifting thru the noise what ETF's you like that have a conservative Beta and decent Alpha??

  • Here's How The Comcast And Netflix Deal Is Structured, With Data And Numbers [View article]
Someone should provide a flowchart/diagram of how and what flows. From where, via what and to whom, The best minds take complicated things and simplify them. Maybe someone has that available. I can't find it.

  • Danger Zone: Comcast [View article]
Cable TV, for that matter all TV delivery as we know it is history. Don't you think CMCSA knows that also. CMCSA skates to where the puck is headed, everyone of the competition is skating to where the puck is.
Comcast's leadership and vision is positioning itself quite nicely. It is one of the only companies with real deliverables versus the Facebook's, the Twitter's, and the flying drones of Amazon in this world of DotCom 2.0.

  • Danger Zone: Comcast [View article]
This article written by someone that is short not only on CMCSA but also on the facts. Headlines and bold titles to paragraphs do not mean anything.
I encourage everyone to do their own research and not to merely follow an article whose agenda is very clear.

  • Tesla And The Other Beneficiaries Of The Giga Factory [View article]
The lithium production process is labor intensive somewhat akin to the Rare Earth bubble a couple years ago. The real winners are the ones that have proven production processes and that is in Chile and China.

NFLX, no content delivery+noinfrastruct... future free ride.
This was inevitable, who ever heard of a free ride going on forever?

  • Comcast-Time Warner Cable Deal: Far From A Sure Bet [View article]
Unless a major and disruptive technology comes soon, we are stuck with over the air (mobile) or over the wire (fiber/copper).
Air transmission is and will continue to be monetized via usage in Gb's in tier structures.
Next will be the wire transmission the same way. I remember when the internet was only available thru DSL and usage was paid for by tiers, on your monthly bill.
The days are numbered where $8 a month buys you unlimited HD movies thru NFLX, AMZN, GOOG et al.
Lastly, if you think the free ride via "Net Neutrality" will remain for four more years, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. Think gas in your car, oil in your home heat, electricity in your home....on and on. Internet with unlimited usage is good while it lasts, but it's days are numbered.

  • FCC to explore removing laws blocking muni broadband networks [View news story]
Television delivery as we know it is history. The pipes that have been built by CMCSA and TWC are the only way presently for homes to enjoy the internet and ultimately television via the internet.
Pay for what you use will become the only equitable structure of payment.
The mobile internet platform is the poorest method of watching television, and who really would enjoy that?
Countries other than the US (South Korea) are 3-4X the broadband speed and 40% the monthly cost of the US.
Complaining is not a strategy. You have to be proactive and vote for those who support you.

  • Comcast likely to box out Netflix [View news story]
Again, not having a metered internet usage makes no sense. Do you go to the gas pump with your VW beetle and pay the same as the Semi, no matter how many gallons your vehicle takes???
People are not stupid, the NFLX longs have a real problem coming up.

  • Comcast likely to box out Netflix [View news story]
NFLX has every right to be concerned. Their days of free rides (bandwidth hogs} at the expense of others are numbered. Very soon this net neutrality issue which has already been decided in court against NFLX will be evident in the pricing going forward.
Where else in this country can you use as much as you want and not pay additionally for the service??
The next series of "House of Cards" will be from an autobiography of NFLX itself.
