Where Is Madoff's $50 Billion?

I suspect there are hundreds of millions hidden somewhere, but the amounts are not even going to cover the legal fees of the mess he's made. I suspect his heirs know where that money is hidden. I wonder why he didn't flee? Does he think he will be able to talk himself out of spending the rest of his life in jail? He isn't in jail now, so he may be right.
