    On the price of oil, what I don't understand is if global demand for oil is consistent, maybe growing at 3% a year, how did oil hit $145, then back to $50? Makes no sense to me. I know the US was buying for the Strategic Reserve, but I can't believe that caused so much price pressure.

    I agree with much of what the author says, it 5 or ten years, when real estate markets stabilize, I could even see profits from some of these interventions.

    I am not convinced. We have more bad news, commercial real estate for example is the next bomb to drop. There is a long way down and we are no where near the bottom.

  • Three Financial Stocks Worth Holding [View article]
    Very interesting strategy. But what about credit card default rates, car loans etc.. with the country in a major recession maybe even depression, I still would hold my my money off the table for awhile. I don't see these stocks doing anything soon anyway.

    I think the key is that we have not reached capitulation. Hard to do anything but short this market till there is real feeling despondency. This wild volatility to me indicates we have not reached that point.

    It is amazing how Yahoo has slowly lost its share of search business. I used to split my budget 60/40 Google/Overture(yahoo)... But now I basically put it all in Google. Yahoo missed the boat, and so did MSN.
