  • Why Apple Tablet Delay Is Good News [View article]
I see three near term catalysts for the stock:

1 - They will be reporting their 1st quarter results in the 3rd week of Jan. and I think it's almost a given that it will be their best quarter in the history of the company.

2 - They are going to change their accounting practices to fully capture the sales of the iPhone which will immediately change their working P/E, coupled with a mountain of cash will give them a ridiculously low P/E.

3 - The "iSlate" (or whatever it may be), this product is very likely to show it's head and it seems likely that it will be sooner than later.

These three events should propel the stock even higher. While there may be volatility in the stock as rumors are rampant, I am looking to Jan '11 options to smooth things out. There are a bit pricey but the 200's and 210's I think will capture a lot of the upside over time (good for a lazy investor like myself).

  • Not Everyone Likes Windows 7 [View article]
"...overpriced and underpowered..." well, I guess that's the price for peace of mind and productivity.

This always kills me - in you house do you buy appliances that don't work because they are cheaper? - or would you pay a little more for ones that actually works...

  • Bye Bye Apple [View article]
It's almost laughable... you are wrong on every account.

Job's health - his chances of surviving the next five years are greatly improved.

iPod - it's a mistake to separate iPod and iPhone sales numbers. But even so it's still a cash cow.

Computer market share down - this is murky at best when there has been an explosion of net-book devices to muddy the waters. AAPL still get about one out of every four dollars spent on a computer.

AAPL too big - with 7 percent market share (or less) AAPL has tremendous room for growth. And the iPhone is just getting started.

Conclusion: AAPL is still a buy at the 155 level - with $34/share in cash and the economy likely to recover in the next year there are good times ahead yet for AAPL.

  • If You Think Steve Jobs' Health Is Not a Material Event... [View article]
"... you have to disclose it and not doing so is unethical. Period."

The other side of this is that if AAPL opens the can of worms by publicly disclosing the health matters of it's CEO it will be a never ending fiasco of shareholders insisting on knowing every detail of his recovery. 'Did he visit a doctor last week? what was that about? is he running a fever? how high is his fever?'

investors may well be unhappy with the deafening silence that comes out of AAPL but believe me it is much better than the alternative. The bigger picture is how this shows a gray area in the law with capitalism going up against an individuals rights to privacy.

  • Palm Pre: Early Rave Reviews [View article]
The problem for Palm is that that if the Pre is 'as good' as the iPhone or the Blackberry they will fail. To get into the fray this late they need something like the iPhone had when it came out - revolutionary.

So let me get this straight. You are restating an article from a notoriously wrong analyst on AAPL and passing at as news.

    Okay.....

  • New iPhone 'Evolutionary', Not 'Revolutionary' - RBC [View article]
Seeing that Mr. Abramsky has yet to be right yet concerning his analysis of AAPL I would take this yawner with a hefty grain of salt.

What he fails to see is that the iPhone is just gaining traction in the smartphone market and the computer business has nothing but room to grow... Combine that with one of the best run companies and a balance sheet most companies would kill for and I would think twice about shorting the stock back to $70.

  • Is the iPhone SDK 3.0 Really All That? [View article]
Is the iPhone SDK 3.0 Really All That? - yes...

This is an example of a company not standing still. You may not see this Mr. Bass, but this is big for both AAPL and third party developers. One of the biggest things you overlooked is the ability for developers to access the dock connector. This has huge implications for third party devices to connect to the iPhone...

I think AMZN is looking toward selling ebooks as their model and not being a hardware company. They will continue to develop the Kindle and may meet limited success, but I see their larger mission of selling ebooks to as all various devices...

  • Apple's Refreshed Macs an Unlikely Catalyst of Growth - RBC [View article]
The last this AAPL needs to do is make a play to bottom in terms of pricing. AAPL has the luxury of keeping their pricing on a steady course and not give into price destruction. Remember it is easy to lower prices, much harder to raise them.

I for one was waiting for the 'refresh' to purchase my new iMac - and they did lover prices (perhaps slightly) on a couple of their product, but no more than they have in past upgrade cycles.

  • Smartphone Intelligence Report: Research in Motion, Palm and Apple [View article]
Most iPhone owners that I know of have never had a smartphone before. I think Apple's genius in the iPhone is not so much relying on grabbing existing smartphone market share but rather in drawing in people (like myself) that had no interest in learning to use a complicated devise and yet would like to use some smartphone features. This should easily bring in 1 to 2 millions units sold per quarter at the current price point - and should do much better when price cuts (and new models) come along....

  • Was Verizon Really Wrong To Pass On The iPhone? [View article]
Verizon LOSES.... You make the point that AT&T may not be the big winner here - but for every Verizon customer that buys an iPhone - Verizon LOSES. That mean that for every customer to move to AT&T - Verizon LOSES over $1,000.00 a year. This is not a net neutral for Verison - THIS IS LOST REVENUE -

So, does Verizon lose in the iPhone deal? yes.

I really can't stop laughing.... That you would keep a second phone just because it had a slightly better camera -LOL- Did you ever think you could just cary a digital camera that would be way better than either phone's camera?

Sheeesh, a camera that cost you $85 a month.....
