  • Replacing Nortel's CEO: Is It Possible?  [View article]
The team formed to create the restructuring plan should review strongly if Nortel can afford to remove Mike. He does not have the capability to lead the "new" Nortel or frankly any other company. Maybe there is a reason Motorola 'overlooked' him as a CEO? Regardless, there is waste at the top due to Mike Z and continues to be with his personal influx of mulitple levels of execs and his Six Sigma black belts. Remove that waste and the operating expenses will decrease dramatically.

  • Wall Street Breakfast: Must-Know News [View article]

  • When Will Criminal Conflicts of Interest Stop? [View article]
It's time we all admit that government is corrupt, regardless of who is in 'power'. It's also time we all admit that the only way to really change or fix the issues with Wall Street is to stop enabling them - we live off them daily through the buying, selling and trading of stocks.

Big business will likely always be corrupt, but at least when it's private, hundreds of thousands don't loose their life savings.

  • Nortel News: Rethinking Bay Networks Acquisition, Delisting Threat [View article]
Amen to both comments. Having lived through it as well, it was 100% the execution that was so poorly planned, there is still the seperation 10 years later. It was the buying spree that Roth took Nortel on right after that Bay purchase that was destructive...18 companies in 2 years....a corporation that couldn't execute became broken as a result.
