  • Investors Need To Consider These Factors Before Making A Move On Corning [View article]
The hook up of Corning and the View could be very promising. I'm surprised that the idea of energy (solar?) glass has been so long coming, if that is the tie in for the new types of products these two are working for. But then what do I know?

  • 3D Systems' CEO Hosts Annual Investor and Analyst Day (Transcript) [View article]
First off, it was not clear, does 3D Systems see GE as a customer or a rival? Or both? Very complete presentation, there were so many different areas to cover with all the M&As, types of systems,
new materials being used and developed, I am surprised that the company only needed a 17 page transcript. Sorry I missed seeing all the equipment at the show. Thanks for the good overview to help us understand the company better.

  • General Electric: A Return To Growth As Well As Dividends Make This A Must Own Stock [View article]
Talk is cheap, just hold on for some action by management and we have to remember too big to fail is also to big to move fast, especially if some play golf with smooth talking politicians who live
by saying what you want to hear.

  • JPMorgan: A Stronghold Stock Option [View article]
How can some people worry about the economy, this includes the government and in particular the 'banks to big to fail' when no one has all the facts or even talk about the underground economies of the world.
One bank saved the United States in the 1800s, that bank was J.P. Morgan. Many banks are bigger than most countries of the world and the principle reason for that is banks have a culture of honesty. Balance that against a growing culture of trying to take advantage of system that's where we knock heads

  • Philip Morris Is A Great Dividend Play [View article]
A good way to cap the outlandish expenses of upper management bonuses is to lock in individuals payments to grants of stock that cannot be sold before a period of time, say five years. Any company holding large amounts of cash should pay regular dividends to the real owners, the shareholders. But, I have wondered how some members of the Boards of Directors have amassed hundreds of thousands, if not millions of share of company stock? A case of the wolves in the hen house?

  • The ARM Singularity [View article]
There are no real winners yet; but a lot of questions that this good article indicates INTC is overtaking ARM, and then someone drops APPLE into the contest with more questions (hype?) on who and what designs or equipment are really going to complete with others?
The best bottom line will be the winner, and by then it will be old history.

  • Intel's Haswell Is Great, But Bay Trail Will Steal The Show [View article]
The old Henry Ford story, produce cheaper, better products and sales boom. Why do so many people think they are the first with this idea?

  • Peru's government launches a public auction for nine offshore oil concessions expected to attract investments worth at least $450M. State-owned Perupetro says at least 20 companies, including Exxon Mobil (XOM) and Chevron (CVX), likely will participate. Petroperu will have the option to participate with up to a 25% stake in each concession, but it won't invest in exploration. [View news story]
Here you and I can see that for our national interests, we need Oil companies to be able in invest in other countries possible oil and gas resources. For that the American industry need large financial sources to compete with the other oil and gas companies of the world. This one of the reasons why I feel the government (other than for public safety) should reduce their spending.

  • The Chinese government will reportedly end a TV subsidy program in June, a move likely to hurt sales in a market whose strong demand has been offsetting U.S./European weakness. The program, launched in June '12, provided subsidies of $16-$65 for local TV purchases. Manufacturers and suppliers that could be affected: SNE, SSNLF.PK, GLW, AUO, LPL, STM[View news story]
True or not, there are people or groups trying to profit from the 'rumor mill'. These groups could even be nations or institutions.

  • GE's Consumer Finance Spin-Off: Good Idea? [View article]
If this was or is such a good idea, why didn't they do this before? Or will some group or individuals be able to take advantage of break up of GE to the disadvantage of the true owners, shareholders much like the earlier lost of the dividends caused I believe by the Democrats (Clinton) and their 'everyone should own a home philosophy' and changes to Glass/Stealgal laws under them.

  • Moore's Law Shows Intel How To Capture The Lead In Every Microprocessor Segment [View article]
You might not like this, but if we can see galaxies 45 billion light years away with Chile's Very Large Telescope doesn't it make sense that we should be able to break down the atomic particulars even further in the future. And I thought with the big bang, the universe was only 13.6 light years old?

  • Moore's Law Shows Intel How To Capture The Lead In Every Microprocessor Segment [View article]

Now with the universe three times larger than what use to thought, logic indicates that the reverse and even Moore's Law will lead to further break-down of atomic particulars. Throw in spin, plus, and minus properties, who knows what is next? Happy hunting to all.

  • Yield-starved investors are piling into frontier-market debt, allowing small countries with no capital markets track record to raise cash at rock-bottom rates. Case in point: At 5.2%, General Electric's (GE) 10-year bonds yield 58 bps more than Paraguay's, and only 142 bps less than Rwanda's. [View news story]
The market goes up, the market goes down. Timing is for the investor with a strong gut. I really was confident that the dividend was secure a few years ago but surprise GE is just like any company if it is not careful. The bigger they are, the longer they will take to turn around. Who are these people that buy bonds at low rates? As a capitalist type person, I love it when dividend rates are higher than most bond interest rates. Well, you never know!

  • Boeing (BA +0.2%) says it plans to return 80% of its free cash flow to shareholders via dividends and buybacks. Earlier this month both Sterne Agee and Soc Gen cited the company's cash generation potential as a factor in price target hikes, with Soc Gen's Zafar Khan noting that share repurchases and dividend increases should be well-supported in the medium term. • Intel Will Regain Lead With Processors Beyond 22 Nanometer [View article]
Information and goals with results are what count. With Intel, as with everyone, time will tell. Intel know its goals, and that being is always half the problem, so I would say well done Intel.
