Why I Believe Silver Prices Will Rise [View article]
I don't understand the criticisms of long leveraged silver ETFs. Sure, if prices rumble up and down for 5 years you're on a loser, but if they go parabolic, which is likely eventually, you stand to make huge gains. It's a gamble but a fairly safe one IMHO.

Until deflation stops, silver will flatline or fall and I don't see deflation ending anytime soon as inflation is concurrent with economic growth (or at least perceived growth in terms of manipulated GDP figures).

I hope you're right about the silver price Captain, but I don't foresee any movement till the economy strengthens and that could - probably will - take years. At the moment I'm keeping all my powder dry in cash and not adding to longs which will remain as insurance. It's the best approach in deflationary times in my view.

Thanks Avi - you're a legend. A number of times I've been thinking of buying more silver but then read your warnings of no breakout yet so I've held off. Sure enough, no breakout came and the price often dropped. You've saved me quite a bit.

Avi, thank you for injecting some very welcome rationality into the breathless and dangerous prognostications of gold and silver bulls. Everyday, KWN and others try to talk up the price - it's ridiculous, wicked even, especially when they constantly hope for global economic collapse (of course they say they don't want it, but really they do). Unlike you, they have absolutely no way of knowing if the price will go up tomorrow or in ten years' time.

I've been listening to Von Greyerz for a while and he's been saying the same thing for about two years. I don't see the price going up when there is deflation. If anything the price will start going down quite sharply before reaching new highs.
Silver: Is The 'Manipulator-In-Chief' Calling A Bottom? [View article]
Avi, are you able to say, looking at the charts, whether you think sentiment towards the metals might be changing? I fear that they're stuck in a funk that could take months if not years to go higher, based on current sentiment and fears of stagflation. Thanks.
Silver: A 26 Handle Is Not Out Of The Question [View article]
Avi, I couldn't help but look at last week's significant price drop with a wry smile. The market is behaving just as you said it would. I'm not a trader but waiting for the price to dip a bit further before the parabolic rise which cannot be that far away now. Many thanks for sharing your analysis with us.

I think you're absolutely right Avi. The metals need to sink and people to forget about them, then look on them anew when currencies really start collapsing and investors see them as the only credible alternative. Then they'll go parabolic. It is all about sentiment.

It all depends on whether people begin to lose trust in the value of their fiat currency. They will if inflation begins to take off, which it could at any moment. Until then PMs will essentially flatline or drop with occasionally spikes due to QE.

Thanks for the very helpful analysis Avi. I also fully agree with you about the manipulation issue. Are you still optimistic about a breakout to the $60 range at some point? I know a lot depends on volume, but given the charts, do you see it as increasingly likely if the price drops further?

Great interview - thanks. Refreshing to read a gold bull with a more balanced assessment. I'd really like gold and silver to sky rocket in the coming year but I increasingly don't think they will. Their price could well be factored in already, as he says.
