  • Americans Forget High Oil Prices Too Quickly [View article]
I'm kinda new (and late to this post), but really want to push the "renewables is the answer" button. Not just any intermittant renewable, but solar thermal. Sure, I don't know how people could invest (in this time) trillions of dollars into the secure and clean desert mirrors option, but I believe it's jobs creation is the only way Americans can survive. If a large enough mirror field were to be built for each nuclear class steam generator, and aluminum industry standard graphite heat storage resevoir, Americans (and others around the world) could manufacture real capital, not just more debt as they want to do today from China's resources...

Gloom and doom: If we don't do this (or something better that requires lots of jobs and secondary jobs) then we spiral down to economic, social, and eventually, environmental hell! Oil will rebound and when it does in this kind of market... It will be too late. At least now, there is still a hope. Energy is cheap enough to build that secure American made form of unlimited baseload power.

I just don't know if it would be worth indebting the future with another trillion $$$. Too bad the "smart people up there" didn't already do this instead of bailing out old dino's!
