  • How to Profit with REITs [View article]
    Non traded Private REIT's are often very risky, with limited transparency and I stay away.

    But publicly traded REIT's have the transparency and no reason to stay away. Do your DD and evaluate which companies you think are going t succeed and their potential payout.......If you believe inflation is coming in the future then I don't see how you can't have some money in commodities and REIT's.

    Personally I own HRP, PLD, PEI, CBL for the long haul and have made a bet on FR and SHO.

    PEI and CBL have the potential to pay out a very high dividend in terms of percentage in the future and they have long histories of giving the cash back to shareholders.

    If you want less risk (and less potential return but still solid), then pick the larger players like PLD, SPG, MAC, AMB, FRT etc...
