  • AMD Looks Finished [View article]
    Ashraf,
Sure glad you worked your way into getting paid by Alpha----you are a really bad stock picker----you will do much better at writing inflamatory, half true, trashy, articles.
You seem to "hate" and "love" certain stocks too much, to be rational, but you are developing a writing style thats works well in the emotional rather than analytical world.

  • Illumina: 4 Different Insiders Have Sold Shares During The Last 30 Days [View article]
Illumina is a very special company at a very special time. They have just demonstrated dominance in genetic code reading. They have just released code read machines that can read a complete human genome for $1000 per genome. Shorting at the time could be a disaster.

  • How Would Milton Friedman Solve The Crisis? [View article]
(Shallower well of goodwill-reserve currency status)---We don't live in a static world, The dynamic world wide "processes" involving currency status have all kinds of "feedback" , some almost instantaneous. Surely, we can manage the "depth" of the reserve currency pond. Also, reserve status involves other nations---they constantly provide feedback--no instantaneous changes possible.

(exponential rather than linear inflation)----again, a dynamic situation, maybe linear changing to 2nd or 3rd order, if there is no feedback loop. Surely, we learned how to monitor the temperature of the economy and can intervene when necessary. In today's climate, I'm sure the hard money guys will jump, leap, scream, etc at the slightest sign of inflation

Seems to me, these risks are greatly overblown and manageable.

  • AMD's New Server Chip: Buy The Stock, But Not The Hype [View article]
This whole debated started on a foolish premise: " buy the stock, but don't buy the company". AS a small investor, I have no such choice. We could debate buy/sell AMD short/long term, but, that's another matter. At the present, I believe AMD the stock and company is a good buy. In fact, A very good buy.

  • AMD's New Server Chip: Buy The Stock, But Not The Hype [View article]
You seem a little arrogant, AMD "is" an established server player and technological advantage is not always a winning hand, as Intel and AMD history have repeatedly demonstrated. Selling AMD short, ha. The stock is already depressed, how much lower can it go? You seem to advise betting Amd will crater, when in reality, it is climbing out of one. Amd is a survivor and the only alternative to an intel monopoly. Buy don't Short, is a better bet.

  • The 7 Reasons Why People Hate QE [View article]
    First rate discussion!
It would be great if any of the ridiculous "news" media had the good sense to invite Mr Parnell and Mr Kramer to discuss economic issues. Almost everyone would learn something and acquire better insight. My two cents:
Interest rates are low because the poor cannot borrow and the rich are too scared to "take risk",while staying busy blaming Obama and Bernanke.
It is sad that Capitalism has sunk to the point where the Fox crowd and the CNN hyper-junk jo-jos dominate the airwaves, spreading fear, hate, fiction, and irrational thinking.
I side with Mr Kramer, but I understand Mr Parnell.

  • AMD's Strategic Position In The Gaming Industry [View article]
Great article; AMD deserves to hit a jackpot!! They've been fighting uphill for years, could't get a break. Maybe, they've finally got some luck to go with the outstanding technology that they have had all along.

  • AMD (AMD +9.7%) just won't take a breather. Share are now up 42% on the week even though the chipmaker hasn't seen any major news and has been hit with a downgrade. Bernstein speculates enthusiasm about AMD's next-gen console design wins is responsible, but they've been well-known for some time. Is a major short-seller or two covering? Is an activist investor moving in? Regardless, shares are up 57% YTD in spite of a pretty ugly Q1 for PC sales. [View news story]
