  • Sandstorm Gold Looks Forward To The Future [View article]
Hi, anyone out there liking Gold and disliking the US$....I'm long of GDX, SAND, SLW etc but am losing half my gains as the US$ sells off, what's the simplest way of owning Gold stocks and shorting the US$...i've looked at UDN, but am not convinced by the basket...Right now with the Ruble in the doghouse over Putins bullyboy tactics, i think long Gold and short US$ vs Rubles might be a good contrarian play?? Either that or long Yaun vs $s maybe, any thoughts? thanks,tc

  • Uranium Miners Outperforming In 2013 May Be Just The Beginning [View article]
I recently read that Germany now gets most of it's gas from Russia....IF Putin were to put a squeeze on that supply for political (I'll invade who I like) reasons, how long would it be before Germany follows Japan back into a restart of their Nuclear plants? All countries hate being reliant on others for their energy...Nuclear is cheaper and counterintuitivlely safer than coal mining and for many countries the only economically viable way to meet their own domestic demand. Political instability should push up demand for URA,tc

  • Thinking About Black Swans And Risk Management [View article]
10-15% into Gold goes a LONG way to insuring a portfolio for black swan or market malaise....GDX, SAND and SLW favourite times of strife commodities that are seen to "hold" value are key...longer term, land is hard to beat as a means of avoiding wealth destruction through hyperinflation. As always spreading risks reduces wipeouts,tc

  • Silver Wheaton: Future Expectations Are About To Reverse [View article]
SLW is a great buy at current levels, UBS's estimates are as usual VERY conservative, with both industrial and fiscal demand for silver growing i'm betting on the spot price of silver being over $30 by yr end...SLW gives a leveraged exposure to the upside, with built in downside/cost over run, protection on any dips. It's a main constituent of my Pension plan,tc

Abe says Japan "to restart all the Safe Nuclear reactors" URA up 8% as i type...this should boost demand and prices back to pre Fukushima levels in time, as the rest of the world takes on board that Nuclear is unfortunately the ONLY economically and enviromentally viable option...i know that statement may seem strange but with Severe climate change already upon us the risks from Nuclear plants pale by comparison to the increases in "Natural" disasters caused by ongoing increases in carbon emissions from burning Oil/Coal/Gas etc. Nuclear Fusion still the Holy Grail...but for now equally unattainable,tc

  • Emerging Market Currency Devaluation Will Mark End Of Tapering [View article]
With the sea of QE already printed and continuing to be printed, inflation is a foregone conclusion in the US, it's in the post...what is counter-intuative is that the Emerging economies are being SO devalued vs the US$ of the US sniffles causing worldwide flu?...i Just know that im very happy to be long of SLW, SAND and GDX at these levels.

  • Will Sandstorm Gold Rebound In 2014? [View article]
I'm long, wrong and strong on Sandstorm....hope to add more at these levels in the next few weeks. With Gold finding a decent floor here at the 1250 level, it's a good long term prospect, especially if and when the QE inflationary bubble bursts!tc

  • How Low Will Turquoise Hill Go? [View article]
IF and it's a big if, TRQ manages to get the GOM to calm down its demands and get on with production, what is to stop Rio, coming in and buying the whole of TRQ at say 4.5$s...seems to me the downside is unlimited due to the GOM policy of reneging on existing agreements and bullying TRQ for a larger cut, whereas IF all goes well, RIO will swoop in and take TRQ for a song. I'd love to believe it will all work out in the end, just think a small shareholder like me will get the shaft from either GOM or of luck to all holders,tc

  • Is Silver Wheaton's Latest Gold Stream Acquisition A Smart Deal? [View article]
When you add in the amount of Gold in the resources category, the 2m "option" money that SLW have paid, looks to be a very smart and leveraged way to gain access to this stream....If Gold rises then their gains rise with a leveraged kicker and little downside. In years to come this will be seen to be a great entry point to a great company!

  • Alasdair Macleod: "1300 Tonnes Of Gold Missing From The Bank Of England?" GATA Seeks Answers. [View instapost]
When was the last time that the USA allowed a open audit of it's gold reserves?? Why won't they allow it to happen..the US Gold belongs to US citizens and they should be allowed full access to an audit of what they own. An international body should independantly check the holdings that BOTH USA has and also the Gold held by the US for other countries...without open access to a thorough Audit how can anyone have any faith in the holdings? No wonder the German Government has asked for there's back!tc
p.s. yes i know the article here is about the BOE...but i believe there's been active collusion between govts to manipulate.
