    I agree , I knew the payout wasn't close to 14%. Author admits he knows it's not accurate but puts it in the title.Then he acts like a donkey when people question his article's veracity and accuracy.I'm deleting from my follow list. This compensation per page view makes the site rediculous.authors are trying to make a living with outrageous titles and copying tons of data verbatim from other sites to increase compensation ,I find myself wading thru more and more pablum on a daily basis

    AGREE WITH UNG comment. if nat gas rallies you'll be lucky to capture 50%of move due to contango in futures markets.that author would suggest going long.this pig demonstrates his naivete of nat gas markets. Another writer suggests covered calls . that would only lessen the pain.If i could borrow ung i would short it and buy gaz all day long.perhaps a long position in hgt,erf,sjt,mtr,ect, would be warranted given there sharp sell off and there ability to track nat gas prices higher in the future. even with distribution cuts i'd receive about 6% waiting for a turnaround

    All the sellers did today was lock in their losses for the lawsuits to follow .They can expect to get about 15 cents a share! An error of Less than 10 percent on Affo? That is a rounding error given all the mergers and acquisitions done lately. I have yet to meet any non Cpa executive who has enough accounting knowledge to spot an error that small. I bought 2000 shares at $8. The $10 price target will be laughable by January

    I don't think this author has a clue about. mreits and how they make money.Refinancing could actually hurt some reits by calling away mortgages that are replaced at lower interest rates. that hurts the net interest spread. The way the author writes you woulf think mreits are mortgge brokers

    I believe all this fear of rapid prepayments is way overdone. I looked at a chart of gnma and except for a breif blip after the announcement of qe3. the mbs market has been fluctuating in a two percent range since may .This would not indicate a rapid rise in refinancing rates in the near future. I highly doubt that the fed is buying up mortgaes at any price but instead is providing a solid floor for mbs pricing. Anytime I can buy these assets at 90% of book value I'll be in to buy more.These mreits will continue to buyback shares increasing the distribution to the remaining shareholders..In the best case the fed would bid up ridiculously high that the mreits could sell their entire portfolio .go out of business and I'd make a 20%profit. I love these articles ,they help start the panic that allowed me to buy wmc at $17.50 or amtg at $18.50. Thanks for the donations

    Since the author has thrown in the towel I have become a buyer. By definition he has to be completely wrong on this call. This started when he made a bullish call on $JMI in Dec 2013 when the stock rallied to $15 which was book value at the time , calling for a $17 price target!!!! I sold my $jmi and Bought $cys at $7.5

    Timing buys in this stock over the long term is key. Brilliant!! How about timing sales ?lol. It's because the value of NLY's holdings is directly impacted by the values of mortgage holdings.Brilliant again. Since Nly holds mortgages as !00% of it's assets you're right again. As rates rise, it's due to the value of underlying securities falling. Further, it can narrow the spread, which mREITs rely on to generate income. Again you fail to differentiate between long rates and short rates. if the curve steepens the interest rate spread widens. If short rates rise without a corresponding rise in long rates the curve flattens and the spread will narrow I prefer a weighting toward longer-term holdings (i.e., 30 years). Well, 82% of Annaly's fixed rate investments are 30 years or higher. Over time the company has weighted more to longer term than short term, which I feel is a smart play. Further, just 8% of fixed rate securities were riskier short-term holdings of 15 years or less. While the adjustable rate holdings are just 5% of the portfolio (a good thing), I will also highlight that the bulk of them are in short-duration maturities of two years or less.
    Why is holding 30 years the smart move?In a rising long term rate environment one gets crushed as in May 2013. Why are shorter maturities more risky than 30 year bonds ? 30 year prices are way more volatile.This article is chock full of misinformation,and opinions with no basis as to why you formed these opinions .
