I am a chemical engineer with a MS in Food Technology and Economics. I am also the author of 2 mathematics books ("Arithmetic calculations without a calculator" and "Word Problems") and perform almost all the calculations in my mind, without a calculator, making it easier to make immediate investing decisions among many alternatives. I invest applying fundamental and technical analysis and mainly use options as a tool for both investing and trading. In my spare time, I follow Warren Buffett's principle: "Some men read playboy. I read financial statements".
I have worked in market research at Proctor and Gamble, and as a systems analyst at AT &T. I have also worked in healthcare, and run a successful internet adventure in addition to being a known indie rock musician. I lost pretty much everything when my business burned 10 plus years ago (underinsured). Illness nearly took me just two years ago, but I am a survivor, and back 100%. During those lean ten years I day traded high risk high dividend stocks and managed to come out with enough to retire. Don't want to do that again. Time to invest for income.

I have been helping startups and investors understand the value of emergent business models in the technology, media, and telecommunications industries. In my own personal portfolio, I have been looking for income opportunities and companies with deep value and strong growth potential whose value propositions are misunderstood by the broader market. I do this by an in-depth study of the markets where these companies operate, marrying that to traditional securities analysis to uncover hidden value and under-appreciated growth.
I'm just a student of the markets
Full disclosure: All social media links and images belong to my friend. I'm helping him out with exposure. He's currently a Wall Street professional that is coming out with a beginner's investing ebook that teaches novices on how to invest like professionals.

I suspect that most dividend investors are conservative by nature. I am. I don't believe I have any special talent or gift for trading, a crystal ball, or any access to insider information. Consequently, I have little expectation of prospering by consistently buying low and selling high. In fact, prior to becoming a dividend investor, my trading history boasted the opposite, buying high and selling low. Tis sad but true, over those years, I'd given more to the market than I'd taken from it. However, that's yesterday's news, and of no real interest. Of importance is that I'm patient, analytical, organized, pretty good at math, and always looking for that angle, strategy, or edge to help guarantee my continued market success. My book, The Dividend Investor's Guide, details my history, education and growth as a dividend investor and the lessons I learned along the way. It details an effective and safe overall investing philosophy, along with a discussion of several proven trading strategies designed to enhance one's portfolio's income and dividend yield.
I am a retired 20 year Wall Street $ manager. I specialized in fixed income, equity positioning with covered call writing hedging strategies. My experience is finding undervalued or oversold companies, taking a long position and writing a covered call to increase my monthly returns. Over time this strategy has outperformed most with minimizing risk.
I'm a self-directed investor who shares my experience in investing. I read, learn, and apply every day.
I write about value & dividend investing from the perspective of a Canadian. I invest in individual stocks on the US stock exchanges and the Toronto Stock Exchange.

I appreciate the work done by SA staff & authors and love the community that engages in meaningful discussions.

My bio is a short and simple one. I'm a high school graduate, period. I spent most of my working life as a over the road trucker. An independent, if you will. The first book I read on investing was One Up On Wall Street by Peter Lynch. Then came many others including Benjamin Graham, Charles Carlson and Robert Hagstrom. I've been an investor for thirty years and while I lack any financial degrees or titles, I think I bring a bit of street level common sense to the table. Thank You.
I had my first passbook account in the 1960s, and lost money in the 1987 crash. Subsequently, I have run investor chat rooms and an investing blog. I also am a published author and write a film animation blog at animatedfilmreviews.filminspector.com.
I bought my first Manhattan property in 1993 and also own property in Colorado. I enjoy investing in real estate and writing about it. I invest in income stocks such as REITs and consider that my area of expertise.
Oh, and I was mentioned in "Scam Dogs And Mo-Mo Mamas: Inside the Wild and Woolly World of Internet Stock Trading" (2000), by Wall Street Journal reporter John R. Emshwiller, a good guy. It's about the bad old dot.com days.
I am a 29 year old father of three, active duty US Marine. I began investing with my retirement in mind and mostly focus on reliable dividend paying companies. I enjoy writing for Seeking Alpha to share my ideas and create discussions with fellow investors. I firmly believe that investing should be made more approachable to the masses and strive to keep my articles simple yet informative. Being on a "fixed" but stable income and lone "breadwinner" in the house creates interesting dynamics and greatly impacts my investing approach. I currently hold in no particular order:
PFE, CMI, AAPL, RTN, BAESY, NKE, UA, DIS, CSX, EMR, F, O, MO, UL, SBUX, EML, CGNX, HRC, DOW, XOM, T, VOD, CSCO, SYF, ORI, GLW, TATT, KTOS, JOUT, GLBL.
I like writing about all sorts of companies in all sorts of sectors. Recently I've been focusing my writing and even investing dollars on micro/small cap defense facing companies. I will always try to keep it simple and understandable, please hit "Follow" if you would like to read my articles in the future.

I am the son of an Army pilot, a former chef and long time trader/market watcher. I currently write analysis and commentary for OptionInvestor.com where you can find me on Monday's and Thursdays, when I write the daily Market Wrap. OptionInvestor.com is a package of newsletters focused on using options to improve returns and increase income.
I take a fundamental approach to technical trading where I keep abreast of economic events while applying them to the charts. My main focus is the SP 500 but I am not limited to that. I currently trade gold, oil, the dollar as well as the indices and stocks.
I have taken a profound interest into demographics and how they are affecting market dynamics. My articles here on SeekingAlpha are the result of years of economy watching and research inspired by such.
My background includes education in petroleum engineering and business and 15 years working with producers, midstream operators and utilities to bring oil and gas from the reservoir to the consumer. I understand in detail the full life cycle and value chain of oil, gas, and NGLs, from the physics of permeability and extraction to the economics of refinery turnarounds and utility load profiles.
I am interested in bringing focused, in-depth understanding to issues related to oil and gas investing. Industry expertise and a true understanding of how oil and gas is discovered, produced, processed, transported, marketed and consumed are vital to valuing investment opportunities in the fossil energy space.
