an excellent well written and convincing article. I was one of those people who drank the kool-aid glass and pitcher full. I no longer trust the MSM to tell me the truth when my own eyes tell me different. I have 2 friends who have had a small business for over 15+ yrs, they are desperately trying to preserve their employee's jobs.. they have trimmed the pay, the hours and cut health insurance for themselves so that their employees could continue to have it at its full benefits. Well, they are finally at the point that they are convinced the christmas sales are going to be down much much more than anyone in the MSM is telling.. but they see their foot traffic.. they see the shops ard them are closing or shrinking. Unfortunatley, they will have to lay some people off, and cannot hire any seasonal people for christmas.

I think people know in their gut the fraud that is being perpetrated on them by the govt and the treasury.. they have taken $ from the taxpayers to make fiancial companies that screwed up big time whole again.. and the people like my friends who actually make something.. they produce something were/are screwed! they talk to everyone.. people know this instinctively...and this banking fraud will come crash this house of cards very very soon.

thanks again for the great article! will be forwarding it to many people.]]>

The Coming Economic Collapse, Part 1 http://seekingalpha.com/article/141605-the-coming-economic-collapse-part-1?source=feed#comment-534922 534922
I can tell you as an immigrant, over 15 yrs in this country, I have noticed a big shift. I am originally from Asia and recently become a citizen of this country.

I went to an engineering graduate school here, when I was in graduate school I noticed 15 yrs ago, there were many asians(nonamericans) in my classes BUT there were a good amount of americans as well. I happen to have a friend who is now a professor who went through graduate school at the same time as me, and he has noticed that the shift in the graduate school, now over 90% are NOT americans, and many many are asians (nonamericans)either from India or China. He noticed this shift was very prominent about 10 yrs ago, but this professor has now noticed in the last 5 yrs or so, more and more chinease/indian students are staying in their homeland as opportunities have increased there.. OR they are comning here, going to engineering grad school here and returning to their homeland.

I would urge the author to look into this, in the 80's 90's there was a huge influx of asian immigrants, engineers, who came to this country, and settled here that led to some of the biggest techonlogy companies being built and grown.
BUT now that;s shifted , they are either not even comning in such high numbers (b/c of increased opportunities in their home countries) OR they are returning home after getting educated here.

This "brain drain" in the technology sector will surely have a detrimental effect on the economy. Would appreciate comments on this. Thanks.]]>

you line about the 3 generations it takes before those hard lessons are lost so reminded me of the opening line in the "Lord of the rings"

such is life I suppose, especially in this society where so many people take pride in their ignorance.

pretty funny... 2 of my friends had the same experience the same day..

one goes into Bank of America to deposit some money, on the way out she is stopped by one of the BoA employees, who was at a booth, and was pressing my friend to open up a credit card account with them.

Then my other friend, she has an acctn with citibank, the same thing happened with her.

they are both now saving more and really not interested in more credit cards.. in fact they are cutting back a lot.

what amazes me is all these idiot politicians were yelling at the banks that you are hoarding cash and not lending to people.. have even considered that maybe people like my friends, and I am sure millions others, no longer want that debt, they don't want to borrow more money, no matter how much it is shoved in their faces?]]>

excellent article!!! I was one of those people who absolutely believed in the FDR's "New Deal", now not so much..

I live in a state has been working on construction on a few highway projects for the better part of 10 years. Everytime I think they are on their way to being done.. they add on or remove or change something.. and it creates a ripple effect in the other parts of the construction project and then a few more years are "required", according to them, to finish these projects.

I have finally figured out why, my state is among the highest in the state in terms of unemployment, and the same democrat politicians retain power. They, the democrats in power, use these infrastructure project to promise work, and everytime it is near being done, more "improvements" are added, and then this is what voters to vote for the democratic politicians who promise this stuff

b/c really, how many major "improvements" do these highways need within 10 years? and it comes down to jobs, once the projects are complete... the jobs are over..they use the promise of "improvements" to promise jobs to lure voters, but these are all government jobs. And the govt in my state has gotten so huge, and it is driving all the private companies, who actually make something and pay for the state govt, to go somewhere else b/c the state taxes have gotten so high. the state govt, democrat, wants to squeeze so much taxes out of the ever shrinking number of private companies in my state, I don't blame these private companies for moving somewhere else.

Yes, and I say this as a recovering liberal, someone who voted democrat consistently for my entire voting record, the democrats are using this "stimulus" as a power grab (and yes, I have huge issues with the repubs as well)

but bravo to the author! I absolutely am fearful we will be experiencing hyperinflation in the very very near future and we have 2 incompetent inexperienced people people in charge, near ever run a private business, or really held a private sector job!]]>

figures, doesn't it? It truely is like being on the Titanic, the rich people get the lifepreservers and are saved, while the hard working schmucks in the steerage go down with the ship]]>

frankly, it is not only an issue of trust, is an issue of confidence as well. Most americans may not understand the details of CDOs, etc..

but to do know when someone has been given a free pass that they themselves would not have been given, and they also know when someone has lied.

Mr. Geither uses Turbo Tax, according to his own testimony, and LIED about not paying his taxes for 4 years.. and BTW: turbo tax is honest enough to tell the customer when they have done something wrong.. it takes human intervention to fudge numbers.

Lets hope Me. Geither uses Turbo Tax to do the nation's taxes, b/c it is obvious Geither cannot tell the truth.

So, the trust is an huge issue, b/c it is obvious the US governments new head of the IRS is lying about fudging his own taxes, and confidence is huge issue b/c confidence only comes when you can trust the person.

On both counts, trust and confidence, Tim Geither has HUGE issues.

Obama is too ignorant to know how ignoratant Tim Geither is, The clueless leading the blind.. hmmm.. ]]>

To Hope and to Dream http://seekingalpha.com/article/115574-to-hope-and-to-dream?source=feed#comment-361721 361721 Obama is as corrupt as Bush.. the only reason people do not see this yet is the kool aid is quite thick, and the media is not longer the holder of public trust.

Mr. Obama has the same cronies, like Rubin, Sumner, from Clinton's and Bush's time in the WH. Do you really think the the financial plan is going to change with the same people behind the scene running this show. I do not think so.

They plan to print their way of this mess. And this will set up just another bubble further along, and of course Mr. Obama will take credit saying if they had NOT done this massive printing of money we would be in even more trouble.
It will be everyday hardworking people who will realise that their purchasing power is dwindling at a fast rate.

my friend was a huge O-supporter, now? well.. when you lose your job b/c of preemptive job cuts b/c on an incoming govt policies.. reality sets in.

Obama has never run anything in his life, not a state, not a county, not a city, not a small business, not a nonprofit

And to think, all of sudden he has all this experience to make things right b/c of "hope and change" makes me wonder if these O-bots believe in santa claus as well.

of course you already have obots on your comments section ready to make any bad news (such as the dow plunging 4%) as though they are someone else's fault. Leadership only works if people believe you.. and so far..Mr. Obama seems to have all this political capital yet not one ounce of political courage.

Already the owner of the democratic party, george soros, Obama's main financier, is advocating printing more money to get out of this mess.. why not? Mr. Soros wants to be made whole for his losses as well, via the US taxpayer, and now that he has his puppets in the WH and the congress, all of us hardworking shmucks are going to be thrown under the bus very soon.
I just wonder how long before people realise this.]]>

Another $700B in corporate loans comes due this year. So what does this mean for the many companies that were counting on borrowing more money to kick their debt farther down the road. http://seekingalpha.com/news/market_currents/post/15531?source=feed#comment-360388 360388
