  • Interview with Miguel Perez-Santalla: How Far Will Precious Metals Fall? [View article]
Whatever gold, silver, platinum, or palladium do over the short to medium term doesn't really matter. The key is what the dollar and other G7 currencies do over the long term. The answer to that is pretty clear. As long as the governments of the G7 (especially the U.S.) maintain foolish monetary policy it's only a matter of time before all precious metals skyrocket. As far as earning interest on my metals, who cares. The main interest is that I protect my family from the inevitable crash & burn that is sure to come.

  • Where are the Checks and Balances in This 'Free-Market' Economy? [View article]
Exactly why I became a Libertarian.

As you say, both major parties stink to high heaven. The American people are ignorant if they believe the Dems will do any better now that they've grabbed power again. Everybody should understand that as long as we allow lobbyists (people who get paid to bribe politicians on behalf of special interests) to exist we allow massive corruption in our government. Isn't it time to toss both parties and elect the only party that believes the U.S. Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights were written by the Founding Fathers for a reason? I am tired of watching the two major parties give lip service to these documents while using them for toilet paper. It's time for Americans to wake up to the reality that terrorists and foreign enemies are not nearly as dangerous to America as apathy and stupidity. Wake up!

  • Absurd News and Rising Markets - Strange Signs of the Times  [View article]
Time will take care of those foolish enough to believe anything our corrupt government has to say. The markets will go down again, break new lows, rally again, and crash big time. I'd rather miss most of this rally and wait for the crash. Right now it's time to buy beaten down shorts like FAZ, SKF, etc. Be patient and you'll make a killing when the herd gets slaughtered.

  • Fed Head Departure and Why Stress Tests Are a Sham [View article]
Be patient and the truth will be revealed. The economy is in the early stages of what will be a massive collapse. The government can lie enough to keep the markets moving up for only so long. Eventually it's game over. For now, the market is for the longs. Soon enough the shorts will laugh last.

  • The Silver Lining of Gold Fever [View article]
When the Fed's quantitative easing leads to painful inflation, people will finally wake up and realize what's happening to their purchasing power. By the time this happens gold will likely be priced way beyond the reach of all but the super rich. At this point, silver will quickly become the only precious metal that the average investor can afford. A frenzy could follow that would push silver prices way beyond your highest estimates. In fact, silver could become the best investment of the next decade.

  • The Cost of a 'Non-Trivial' Pandemic  [View article]
I heard they found three Mexicans with their heads cut off. It was determined the cause of death was swine flu.
What a crock! People have plenty of reasons to fear for their lives. The swine flu is not among them.

  • When Does it All End? The Abuse Continues. [View instapost]
It's really amazing. So much apathy in America. Obvious corruption in all three branches of government and the population remains as docile as sheep. If we're unwilling to stand up and hold our criminal politicians accountable, why should we expect a happy ending. Why do we deserve freedom and prosperity if we take them for granted. Unfortunately we have failed our children and grandchildren and we will surely pay a steep price well beyond the imagination of the majority.

Here is an appropriate quote by Mike Vanderboegh. Will it be prophetic?

"Anyone who tells you that "It Can't Happen Here" is whistling past the graveyard of history. There is no 'house rule' that bars tyranny coming to America. History is replete with republics whose people grew complacent and descended into imperial butchery and chaos."

Mike, keep up the good work.

  • Pleasant Surprises This Earnings Season Will Lead to Unpleasant Future Surprises [View article]
    Dear Mr. Kim,

Please keep your so-called negative articles coming. Let the financial media educate those CNBC watchers until they learn that being gullible and lazy guarantees their financial destruction. In the meantime, those of us who appreciate your insights can steer clear of shark infested waters.

  • G20 and IMF Gold: A Late April Fools' [View article]
The one thing I am certain of, when the you know what hits the fan, the average investor will rush to exchange their soon to be worthless fiat currencies for hard assets. When that occurs they will find that gold, silver, platinum, and palladium supplies will be impossible to buy without huge sums of cash. The manipulation we see daily in these markets will fail to hold back the tidal wave of demand. In the meantime let Gordon Brown and the IMF sell every ounce they have to drive the price down enough for me and other believers to increase our positions (assuming the Chinese aren't buying every ounce).

In the end, if I survive the chaos sure to follow, I'll look back at this time as one where even in the most obvious of circumstances, most people have nothing invested in the only real money out there.
    It is so sad.

  • Seven Uncomfortable Predictions for the Economy [View article]
    OMG - smart & beautiful.

Talk about nailing the situation. It might be time to renew that passport, sell that house (if you can), and think about moving to a place with a little less corruption. The way this country is going how long will it be before the government puts restrictions on leaving the country with gold, silver, or other hard assets? I know they trample our constitution on a daily basis. Anyone who thinks for a second that our rights are safe in America is delusional or blind. The clock is ticking and Ms. Bawden's comments are on the money. If you really want to protect your family it might be prudent to consider an escape plan. It may seem absurd to some but considering the average American's apathetic nature I just don't see much hope.

Canada?, Costa Rica?, here I come!

  • The Dollar's Tipping Point [View article]
Basically a good article that makes sense and your advice is sound.

My main argument is with your comment regarding the likely price of oil, gold, and other commodities should the dollar be replaced as the reserve currency. If this happens expect oil & gold to soar 3 to 5 times your prediction. Most other commodities, as they are priced in dollars, will double, triple very quickly.

  • Rambus's Litigation-Based Business Can't Last [View article]
It amazes me how some people call themselves journalists.

After reading your article, the first thought that comes to mind is that the author is unethical, uninformed, or both. He is blatantly attempting to distort the facts by perpetrating this malodorous perversion of journalistic refuse on readers who would be mortified by the facts.

This should be a story of greed and corruption within the judiciary and FTC that not only condoned the theft of intellectual property, they actually aided the criminals in their conspiracy to destroy this small but extremely innovative company. Why? To help them steal the incredible technology developed by the brilliant engineers who make Rambus the premier IP company that it is.

Tom, it's people like you that teach us to question everything we read today. You should be embarrassed and ashamed. I suggest you find a job more suited to your talents like cleaning public toilets or septic tanks waste removal.

  • Five Predictions for This Market [View article]
You're right that sooner or later we will get a fairly nice rally. That's gonna be a perfect time to buy all those proshare ultrashorts I missed the first time. Why waste time hoping you'll pick the stocks that will rise? It's so much easier to buy the ultashorts on any big rally. You're sure to triple your money as soon as the market crashes again.
How do I know this is the right strategy?
It's easy when you watch congress and our newly elected president. It's obvious they've learned nothing and will continue making stupid decisions that will end in a bankrupt America and a worthless dollar.
Clinton started this mess, Bush made it worse, and Obama is proving that change isn't necessarily for the better. I only have one more thing to say. Where is Ron Paul when you need him?

  • U.S. Economy: We Don't Have the Right People in Charge [View article]
    That about covers it.

Any idea when the American people will wake up to the fact that the two major political parties are one big pile of SH*T? Where are the libertarians when you need them? Time for a revolution?

P.S. You mentioned some of the morons responsible for this disaster but you forgot Nancy Pelosi. A real brainiac who will save us all. LOL

  • Thoughts on Apocalyptic Prophesy  [View article]
"In some very real sense, however, gold is just another ponzi scheme. It is only worth something because other people think it's worth something."

And what about the US$ and all fiat currencies? Let's face facts. Unless we're going to a barter system where food, water, and shelter are the only things of value, precious metals like gold, silver, platinum, etc. are the most legitimate form of money we have today. They are in short suppy, can't be printed, and they are expensive to mine. Demand is high, supplies are limited, and it's been the most valued form of money throughout history. Give me a better idea to replace paper 'worthless' money and we'll have something to discuss. Until that day comes, buy it as a hedge or face the consequences
