  • The Threat Of GECC's Disappearing Tangible Common Equity Value to the Financial System [View article]
Hope this article gets many comments, as I love to read the tortured logic by the GE stockholders who believe the historically sound GE is the current GE. GE's golden days ceased in the past decade or so, about the same time as the market for derivatives increased exponentially. GE would probably have been OK if they had stuck with turbines, engines, motors, appliances and the rest of the stuff they built their company on. Such a shame to piss away a major piece of American culture.

Joe the Plumber aside, I'm not sure that quote can be taken at face value. It would depend on the individuals. For instance, Sam Walton, Warren Buffet, and Bill Gates would probably turn it upside down. On the other hand,it would probably apply to someone like Donald Trump.

All in all, a good read. Agree with most of the article. I personally think the analogies are very useful and greatly enhance the content.

Of course there wouldn't be much coverage of the tea parties by the mainstream media. The tea parties are an indictment of the sick ideology shared by the MSM and the bureacrats.

  • Bar Continues to Drop Dangerously on What the U.S. Will Accept as Collateral [View article]
Kohn's statement is typical of the lies from the federal government. I'd sooner believe graffiti written on the walls of a men's room in a pool hall. The government has managed to create a situation, through corruption and incompetence, where the average citizen is screwed at every turn. Hard to imagine any outcome now that doesn't involve much more pain for the taxpayer. Compliments of the on-the-take elected and appointed jerks.

The dialogue in the article reminds me of a quote I read somewhere a while back: "I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not so sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."

Anyone who accurately forecasts the bottom should not be hailed as a seer or prophet. Anyone who nails it will have made a lucky guess. If they believe otherwise, ask them to be so kind as to peg the next 2 or 3 bottoms for you.
