Solar Grid Parity: The Great $1 Myth

Good article, and you're dead right that electricity retail rates, insolation and finances are the three determinants for grid parity. Q-Cells recently came up with an awesome analysis / visualization of grid parity in the european markets (check out pp. 14-15 in their Q3 report) that is along your thoughts. It shows the spread in time for grid parity in the various european markets and the electricity market that progressively falls below grid parity. According to this analysis Italy's residential market will be the first to reach grid parity here in europe sometime around 2009-2010...
