I agree with valueinvestor. One of the foundations of accounting is to match cash outlays with the period of time it adds value to the Business. Anything that is prepaid should be acccounted in the periods effected. If the fees are really pre-paided for three years one third of the cost should be expensed each year. Accounting 101- cut and dried.

Isn't the real solution for Fair, Issac to adjust their "black box algorithm to adjust credit scores based on reduced credit lines. Say I have 10 credit cards and I cancel 5 that probably doesn't affect by ability/willingness to pay back a loan. Credit score algorithms need to change and conditions in society change.

I admit to not having the answer to our current economic crisis. However, I do know that Congress and the White House have given us a stimulus package that has some items in it that will not stimulate the economy and are bad public policy for 2009 based on current economic conditions. I will give just one examples, I am sure anyone reading the bill can give many more. 198 million allocated to Phillipinos that served in World war II and were supposely were denied benefits to which they were legally entitled. I object for the following reasons: no means testing, why now- this has been an issue for over 50 years, why in 2009 when we are in the worst crisis since world war II. This can be paid to people that live in the Phillipines. How is this going to help stimulate the US economy. As I am not an economist the only plausible explanation I can think of is that money given to Phillipinos have a higher multiplier effect then money given to US Citizens. I plan to write to all of the Congressman representing my state asking to explain how this was inserted into the bill and ask them to correct this hugh traversty in future legislation this year and urge all seekingalpha readers to do the same. It is time that the people let Congress know how we feel!! This way to too much to hope for but "all" we need is a little common sense in Congress.

Nice timing since stock is down 24% today. That is why I stay away from this type of stock until some bad news comes out and the market overreacts. Now is probably a great time for a short term trade. Similiar to SGP several months back when market overreacted and sent it to around 14. It went back to 20 in about a month and is now in a trading range around 20. You could have made a quick 30-40% in a short timeframe. Probably same scenio here for AMLN
