The "drastic" rebates you refer to are about 30$ price reductions most probably driven as price competition between Amazon and AT&T, not by Nokia. The one link you included referring to "abysmal reviews" is the most unprofessional article I have read over the whole past year, written by an obvious other brand fan. For meaningful future business the consumer market is where the real battle is taking place. RIM has no foot on the ground there. In the corporate world most companies are moving away from BB as soon as they see BB's secure email is no longer a differentiating factor. More importantly most companies that use BB for the reason of secure email services already allow the same workforce to bring in consumer devices like iPhone, Samsung and Nokia - this is unstoppable as people prefer to use devices that are user friendly and innovative.
Let's not interprete the figures with negative glasses on ... Nokia is in transition and has brought out a range of new devices. It is natural that sales of current devices reduce after announcing a new model. Sales of the Lumia 800 was affected after announcing the Lumia 900, and sales of the Lumia 900 was affected by announcing WP8 and the Lumia 920. This is called continuous innovation.
