  • The Eurozone's Spectre of Banking Collapse [View article]
@ John Lounsbury, hi, glad we are still speaking.

It wasn't the teachings of Marx that led the nationalisations in post WW2 UK.
The rail system was buggered and at the point of collapse. Economic needs of a capitalist economy were paramount.

Political union, without economic union, is about as much use as marriage without sex or . The centralisation of european treasuries and banking systems won't resurrect the old communist parties.

I see no red flags in the streets.

"If it ain't broke......" european economic structures are on the road to being well buggered, in my humble opinion. Long past its B.B.E. date.

Thoughtful article, I ask all here to read the links in Mr Harrison's piece.

I suspect the outcome will be a more centralised economic system of control in the EU. The comfort of long drawn out discussions of economic unity in Europe will be seen as a past luxury that has to end. Nothing, like a threat to your security, makes people more amenable to a central command than the current economic battles to come.

I suspect the powers that be are already deep into unreported meetings at this very moment.
