  • ABB Ltd: A Look at Electricity Infrastructure [View article]
    Hmmmm.

No mention of recent EU regulators' accusations of price-fixing as part of a cartel....

On Dec 11th ABB, along with Siemens, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Areva and others were implicated in a "statement of objections" over price-fixing amongst companies that make power transformers. Raids of the companies' offices took place months ago. They face potential fines of up to 10 percent of annual sales.

In 2007 Siemens was forced to pay a fine of $660 Million for similar charges.

It seems to me this "analyst", along with others that are currently recommending the stock, are either negligent in not mentioning these accusations, or are purposely keeping quiet about them in the hopes of selling off the stock before it drops by (my guess) 20%-30% by the end of trading Monday December 15th.

It seems to me an article dated 3 days after the charges first surfaced should include at the very least mention of them. Otherwise, I am left to suspect a lack of diligence, perhaps even competence, or some ulterior motive.
