Mike I'm not sure about a 10 bagger as that would suggest a P/S ratio 3-5x larger than OSTK has ever seen. However, I do agree that it can triple their ratio from here. And if the continue invest into their IT they will improve their future margins and be seen more than just a discount Etailer. http://bit.ly/1C619bf

    John,

Thank you for the history. I'm sorry to hear Axion has changed your lifestyle. Too many have told me similar stories. I'm glad you have another redemption swing with Epower.

    John,

If recurring capital requirements are a given, why did you put over a million dollars of your own money in back at the very beginning? Would it not have made more sense to parse that money out over different rounds rather that have paid up 10-15x of where it is now?

Obviously, you we're well aware that there would be subsequent capital raises in the future. However you now speak of these things as a given and accepted annual event.

Not that long back weren't you of the mind that PbC sales and stock appreciation would be part and parcel of additional financings? Have you decided to participate in this latest placement? I seem to remember you having a preference for your money actually going into the company coffers?

First time I heard that line was back in the 80s from the movie "Colors" great flick by the way. Don't click if you're offended by strong language.

You have a good life too it sounds =)

Yes, you should ask your broker about ipo dynamics for future placements. I've never had a broker who could guarantee allotments and I've always been told to put in for more than I really want.

As far as pricing you either get the IPO price ($68 for BABA) and your account will reflect that before the market opens. Or you will find out that you didn't get any shares.

It all depends on how much his company got allocated and how many others partake or don't. Obviously the best clients get first dibs.

Fwiw, the only times I've gotten my full request on is on the stinker ipos thus I sell out the first day of trading. I've yet to lose more than a few percent on those but exiting early puts me lower on their preferred list next time. I always ask for more than I really want on perceived hot IPOs, the last one I did was GoPro but I only got 1/5th of my request.

My friend who wanted 2000 shares only got 200 and he said he will ride them as long as they are above water but would have flipped had he got 1000 shares or more.

Seems like you would have had to ask (and being on the hook potentially) for 10x what you really would have desired. Thus to get 1000 shares you might have to have had an account that could potentially commit to 10,000 shares. That rules most of us out.

    JP,

You do have the patience of a Saint. I know even us long time Axionistas can bombard you - even with honest questions and assumptions.

Fair enough. My main point is that offerings shouldn't logically get based on a single closing print from a day prior. Even a full days worth of data make more sense. It's a minor point anyhow. And since there are warrants attached I'd think there is a non trivial chance of a slight premium to the last close.

    John,

I don't "know" anything for certain but I have years of trailing data that suggests Axion won't have a huge volume spike.

I wanted you to show me the error in my thinking, but instead you talk about traditional IPOs that have nothing in common with Axion as far as I can tell.

Show us a micro-cap that was already on the public market but then finally had a "formal" debut and then all of sudden volume spiked.

I respect your market experience and I'm trying to honestly handicap what will happen when 2.5M+ more shares come into play later this month.

    Mr. I,

Axionistas own at least 5M shares. Only a small few can exit a stock that trades such a low volume. Heck, look how little it takes to crush the price this month.

Also it should be presumed that Axion's offering price will be based on some trailing volume average. It wouldn't make sense for it to go off at a slight discount to its last print - but if that's really the plan then it will entice manipulation.

Yes, there are many ways to game the market and I'm sure the PIPErs are still doing it. They have the benefit of free shares (courtesy of their July warrant conversion).

Yahoo "BABA" charts makes it look like there was 60M+ shares that went off in the high 90s so $68 is about 30% off. But I'm sure we both can agree that those who got the BABA ipo did indeed get a 30%+ profit.

Anyhow my point stands that no similar dynamic exists in Axion, so there should be no reason to think that we will have a PPS and Volume spike. You don't seem to vehemently disagree on this. I was hoping to be convinced otherwise.

John, I really want to be 180 degrees off on this but back channel messages to me from others are very different than what you are stating.

Axion PPS this week doesn't make one feel that DDG is out there knocking the socks off institutional investors.

It will be very interesting to watch the post registration volume. I'm very suspect that the volume will spike into the hundreds of thousands.

And if it does spike what would that mean anyhow? You cite BABA but those are mostly speculators who flipped their IPO profits.

If Axion spikes that implies the offering isn't well placed and we now have a group of speculators who only wanted a free roll on the warrants. =(

There are no Axion IPO investors who have a 30% discount to market like there is in the BABA ipo. It just seems unlikely to have a volume and pps spike weeks from now when you can buy it under $4 today and everyone knows that.

    Al,

I think most won't be upset if indeed EP is successful in the start stop battery market. At worst it validates Axion class technology - and at best there would be a path to license revenues. Also, the margins will be better on a successful IP suit. However, these things take years to play out and Axion might not have that kind of time.
