OK, so they hold their breath. I enjoyed your reply.
I'm totally with you on doing away with the 4,000 lb machines.
Here in LA, we have Ciclavia's where several miles of downtown streets are closed to motorized vehicles. Last time, more than 100,000 people enjoyed the sights aboard whatever type of self-powered vehicle they wanted.

First, according to the Argonne National Laboratory "...natural gas emits approximately 6% to 11% lower levels of GHGs than gasoline throughout the fuel life cycle. " Natural gas is a fossil fuel and does contain some carbon that comes out as CO2.
Second, not all electricity is or needs to be generated from a coal-burning facility, but even from coal burners, you at least have it isolated so that you can reduce the toxic output.

This article is essentially political. It's not an analysis and forecast based on facts. It's an opinion piece. You're entitled to your opinion, Trade in Mexico. Here's mine. Now that the electorate has administered attitude adjustment therapy to the Republicans, maybe they will work with the president. Your article shows maybe some of them haven't heard the results. Your presidential candidate lost. He lost the state he was born in, the state he was governor of and every state in which he has a house. He did win Utah because he is a Mormon. He won all the southern states, you know, the ones who teach their kids that there's no such thing as evolution.

Bret Jensen, we'll be able check your predictions of doom and gloom. I'm making a note in my calendar for same time next year. Not everyone is as pessimistic as you, by the way.

A lot of bitter losers this morning who don't sound like they're ready to sit down for a fact-based discussion and action plan on anything. Whoever won this election was going to get stuck with four years of crapola from everyone.
For all of you brave ex-pats out there: I hope you found your sunny paradises, and I hope the government forgets to send your social security checks.

Climate change aside, do we really want to breathe what results from burning any fossil fuel? When a billion Chinese, another billion Indians, and a billion more of other nations all get cars, do we want them to be NGV or electric?
Electric, of course, because the source of production of electricity can either be controlled at a few sources or totally clean.
How about this as a "man-on-the-moon project" for the 21st century: invent and build a system of personal transportation that puts zero carbon emissions into the atmosphere.

The American people expect the president to be a miracle worker. Ordinary accomplishment isn't good enough. Obstacles and the obstinate aren't allowed to be reasons much less excuses.
The job of President is getting to be so difficult and so thankless that only power-hungry, the megalomaniacs, the sons trying to live up to heroic fathers, and the reality-challenged want it.
I don't blame Obama for letting his ambivalence show in the Denver debate, letting a man who thinks he can become a god do a super sales/missionary job on the American people.
Speaking of "Hope and Change", I hope the American people understand that change comes from them, and not the guy in the White House.

RS has to upgrade his news sources from messages in bottles. AGNC and NLY have dropped over 5% since mid-Sept while the market has only dropped 2%. Pessimism about this sector is not a new thing. The premium that buyers of AGNC have been paying over book has been expanding steadily, so it's no wonder holders are getting nervous. How long can AGNC keep the elephant in the air? The earnings call this quarter will be interesting. I sold a third of my AGNC at 36 and switched to IVR at an average price of 19 , because of the relative premiums to book . IVR is now 21 and AGNC is 34.50.

Romney is not a Sunday Mormon. He's a devout and committed Mormon. He daily wears the sacred garments. He performed duties as a bishop, spent two years on what Mormons call a "mission". His candid views reveal how Romney's faith affects his attitudes and actions. The American people need to think carefully before they vote for such a person as President.
Every male Mormon is striving to reach a state of divinity, and whether he achieves that state is dependent on his own efforts. Worldly success goes a long way to validating of those efforts. Romney's candid views on the video reflect this belief.
The Mormons tout their "social welfare" programs. In the Mormon world, you receive social welfare only in return for your devotion to Mormonism. Nearly all of their "social welfare" goes to fellow Mormons. Romney's contributions to what he calls "charity" are really tithes to the Mormon church. Romney's candid views also reflect the Mormon view of the social compact. In this regard, Mormonism is more like Islam.
Finally, Romney is viewed as "a nice person". He is nice in the way that deeply religious people are nice. Underlying their comity is a belief that their communication to the divine is closer than yours. They will "make nice", knowing that, as a Lamanite, you will forever exist in a dark, lower kingdom, while they, as a Nephite will become gods.

No one with a shred of moral fiber would intentionally launder money for criminals and terrorists or ignore evidence of it. Government regulators have been working on this but they can't oversee every account and transaction.
Bernanke's big risk is whether he can he drive rates higher once he gets the economy growing faster. He has history on his side. After WWII, USA had a massive debt piled up from the war and the depression. If the government had been freaked out then at the level of debt, and cut expenditures, the USA would have fallen into recession. Yet the two decades from 1945 to 1970 saw phenomenal growth and, at the same time, paring down of the percent debt to GDP. Why, because continued government spending improved the supply to satisfy the pent-up demand for education (GI Bill), houses (FHA and VA financing), cars , appliances, clothing, almost everything that had been sacrificed in the depression and the war. This caused a boom in incomes and consequently tax revenues.

Americans are said to be optimists. You sure wouldn't get that impression from reading the comments on SeekingAlpha. There's a lot of talk about stocking up on gold, guns and ammo, the coming inflationary spiral, and years more of austerity caused by gov't debt. Jeremiah is at the top of the charts and Pollyanna can't get an audition. You'd think no one in business is making any money (because of gov't regulation of course), consumers aren't buying at the stores, kids aren't getting married and having children. But, wait, they are. Maybe we ought to wake up from our dystopian dreams and see that it's "morning in America" once again.
