  • Another Crisis Looms Right Around the Corner [View article]
Normally, in times such as these the peasants take up pitchforks and hoe handles to storm the Bastille; however, the peasants can't read or listen to anything other than ear-plug music and reality TV...oh well.

What will happen when cable is priced out of reach to the dirty masses, music and game software become to rich for the peons; will they attack with their super-sized drink cups in hand..... They will die in the streets of worse than rubber bullets, water canon sweeps and inconceivable ignorance.

Try 1910 in Mexico, or 1789 in France.

    to mb kelly:

Apparently you and I have some experience around this arena. I wasn't particularly aiming at your comment, just trying to spread a note of caution. And, make note of the fact that I don't like Casey and his crew...however, I do read some of the posts there. I would love to find a rock with some gold in it or a nugget even...I even dream of buying a metal detector and looking for Centenarios down in Mexico (where I live).

  • Fed Sends Gold Higher, But What Is It Good For? [View article]
Today, this era, is like no other in the last 50 to 60 years. To compare today to year 2000, 1980 or whenever is senseless.

Compare it to the days in France before 1789, or Mexico before 1910.

The economics of today call for a complete cleansing of our (USA) government....vote no to incumbents, period.

Doug Casey is a con man running one of the biggest digital "Three Card Monty" games that ever came down the pike. All his minions and hucksters could be working carnival side shows in another century.

I do believe there is much money to be made...or saved by investing in PMs and those mining them. I own gold and buy and sell when the mood hits me.

I also believe opinions harvested on "Kitco" will ultimately leave you standing on a deserted corner with empty pockets, while the games has swiftly moved to another corner across town. These guys are all selling something and skilled in the game, and remember the key word in the game is "Confidence".

Best of luck and study hard.

  • Gold ETFs - Big Surprise at Tax Time [View article]
.....does anyone understand why the United States was created in the first place? Is not anyone outraged at this situation that will only get worse. We don't have to finance the lives of the "elected" aristocracy. How did we get back to this point? There must not be a single incumbent returned to his/her high office (or low).

There is only one thing I respect about France....they had the balls in1789.

  • Gold and Silver Continue Their Ascent [View article]
I live in Mexico; here coins are bought and sold at special counters in the department stores in every town (city or village). Mexico has a one ounce silver coin (Libertad) in circulation. Mexico has a long history with silver and it's coins were used in early American history until the civil war (2bit, 4bits,etc were pieces of 8 reales). Imagine, buying your silver coins at Walmart for a pittance over spot.

  • Vietnam Gets the Gold Bug [View article]
Gold and silver bars and coins (fake) are being dumped out by Chinese back yard mints by the millions, in every denomination and class. Some are almost impossible to detect by look and feel. It takes a scale and measurements to be assured...and then you might get took. Ebay is a fool's paradise for coins today. Stay far away from newbies and ebay and buy from expert, well known bullion and coin marketers.

  • Current Gold Price Is Not a Bubble [View article]
All I know is, I have been buying some silver whenever I can since the early seventies. I moved to Mexico a few years ago and continue to buy the Mexican Libertads which seem to always be available (buy or sell) in the Elektra Home stores. I like the feel of gold and silver...I remember as a child in the 40s and 50s the thrill of holding silver dollars, which were often given to kids by relatives, and then putting them in a secret place; I still have them. If the sh** hits the fan (and it will) I will buy a few beans and tortillas with the silver I have stashed. Ultimately, PM coins have nothing to do with inflation and deflation; they are money, pure and simple (read history).

It will never be a bubble to me.
