  • Partners Embrace Win-Win Proposition In Solazyme's Tailored Oils [View article]
myristic is a saturated fat. cracks me up to think with all the brohaha about dha productivities of competitors going through the roof, wiith epa to follow, that they would have the cojones to pimp myristic, yawn.

Its all about the pufa baby- C20 and above. the higher unsaturation the better- g/l/hr baby. Takes some crafty MBA's with serious poker face to not start laughing out loud trying to sell high myristic, imo of course.

in terms of partnerships, its all about the term sheet baby. ADM is not a one trick pony. Roquette is protein source neutral- just no smelly stuff.

They say it takes big pockets to tackle the DSM monster, but really all it takes is one cell line, and a bottle or two of oil to sell it.

  • How The Micro-Hybrid Revolution Will Radically Change The Battery Market [View article]
there have been more seeking alpha articles and comments written on the PbC than PbC batteries made. Its a penny stock godl mine for prolific writers who want to drum up some business.

Exide dropped the PbC collaboration for other lead/carbon technologies ( hint- its private ), and is currently aligning its quick charge to Maxwell.

maybe PbC is the greatest lead/carbon solution ther ever will be, but if so, management is milking it for itself- hey its happened before.

    good luck all.

  • 2 Gold Stocks With Recent Insider Buying [View article]
Do you have any comments on any impending fiscal cliffs that CGR faces, the refinancing of any existing loans, or special financing needs for expansion to the target production you allude to.

typically, banks that specialize in financing gold projects have been known to bend these small miners over the barrel at times like this, with usury rates that can destroy long term appreciation potential.

One alternative is the streamers ( sandstorm et al) , but they aren't that much more gentler.

    tia, happy new year

  • Jumping On The Grid Storage Bandwagon [View article]
seems public compannies in this space are really about bilking investors than in making a technology work. the salary level of ceo's and senior management of penny stock companies is very indicative.

they do science to generate press releases to justify bonuses and hefty compensation packages.

engineers are commodities to these folks, their products not useful gadgets, but ever increasing compensations paid for by dilutive stock offerings justified by press releases filled with hope and promise.

people who carry their water should take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror.

    jmho.

  • Lead-Carbon Batteries: Cheap Classic Chemistry With 21st Century Performance [View article]
I'm just saying that when you are talking small unproven public battery stocks, you are talking about the smart money's trash bin. few exceptions. Don't put grandmas money it. as jlp is saying - the chemistry is well known. This ain't biotech.

  • Lead-Carbon Batteries: Cheap Classic Chemistry With 21st Century Performance [View article]
Smart money is in private battery ventures, who are attracting top talent on newer chemistries, divalent atoms, solid state, and whatnot. Khosla ain't in lead carbon, nor is ge venture cap. I'd advise against putting significant money into tiny public ventures.

  • Gold: Long-Term Fundamental Thesis Remains Intact [View article]
We still can't go buy some bread with my little gold dubloons, hell the local saloon won't even sell me a beer for some dust anymore, what is the world coming to? Its just shiny metal that holds a place in many peoples hearts, a romantic remnant of the old wild west, kinda like Ronald Reagan and John Wayne I guess..

They will print more and more money, and people will frantically work and fight for it, who will get the most? gold miners? or McDonalds? Its not a bubble, its just never ending.

fwiw, i have some nostalgia in my portfolio.
