Yes, releasing something "new" to show innovation and widen the portfolio is important and overdue.

  • The Real Reason Apple Is Acquiring Beats For $3.2B - Part 2 [View article]
Over analysis of an accessories play because everything has to go under the magnifying glass. 3B is 2X rev, simple ROI if all else fails. There are far better audio phile plays and far better streams plays, mature, stable, known brand name, good demographic accessories.

  • Why Tim Cook Wants Mom And Pop To Buy Apple [View article]
It is possible that a large group may of retail investors may buy and hold at the lower price pt and for the dividend. This would provide price stability as well.

  • Apple Would Find It Difficult To Integrate Beats Electronics [View article]
A new box! This is an accessories play but because it is Apple everyone is reading way too much into this. There are far better small premium audio gear shops they could have picked.

Ever get a virus on an Ipad?

Companies install filters at the top end because you can not trust a user.

None of this is controlled at the device level. Security is controlled way up on high. If the mothership says block XXX, it is blocked at the corp level. The corp business users policy applies to all users in the case of any issue the logs are retained. You will have to "accept" this policy to use the device. FB is getting a pass right now because of social productivity.

  • Apple's Q2 Results Are Likely To Disappoint [View article]
All of this has been said before. Apple does need to diversify profit into other products immediately (yesterday). 68% dependency in that market is far to much. While people always say "price" when shopping obviously there is a disconnect in that data or they would NOT have sold 500M Iphones at this premium. There were always cheaper and free phones, people want Apple.

  • Microsoft Just Killed Itself, Apple Wins Again [View article]
Wil: Since when did "better" have anything to do with anything?

MS won the tablet war, MS had the very first fully functional production tablet. (I had one.) What was their prize for being first? MS has no concept of what a user wants. They want to sell a license end of engagement, on to the next mark.

BTW none of the important stuff (policies, accts, groups, security) you are mentioning is done at the device level. This kind of mindset is 6-8 years old.

In a BYOD model finance may not even be paying for the Ipads. Your scenario is really dated.

To clarify since my earlier post got pushed down:
"Never heard of it lol. iWorks has been around for years yet most people dont know what it is. Your living a pipe dream since most people wont even buy an Apple device because of its price point."

You mean except for the 500M units they sold, right?

To answer your other question you can use terminal server, command line and RDP. If you are using an Ipad for a single application you missed the boat anyway.

  • Apple: Dividend Increase Coming Soon [View article]
Apple is thriving in one of the most competitive markets ever seen. They should hold their cash horde and not pay a dividend, it is waste of capital vs. other acquisitions with much higher ROI. Should a rainy day ever come where they need it and the share price is effected the extra .25c wont mean anything. And magically the yield will double. To say there is nothing in the marketplace that they could buy which would be a better use of their capital is not plausible. This is short term thinking. If the SH price doubled would you care what the dividend rate was?

  • How To Know When To Short Apple [View article]
Apple does need to do more than total up the quarterly unit sales as impressive as they are. Something new is long overdue and is the catalyst for doubt and this type of article.
