My life changed on 14 Nov 2007. I underwent a quadruple bypass. "Teamwork" is invisible to me. I'm not a cooperative or flexible person. Thus, I was unprepared for the pain after surgery, the requirement that I do things that made the pain worse, etc. I spent 3 weeks in the ICU and seven weeks in the hospital. If my wife had not so fully devoted herself to me, and if she had not, so much, wanted me to live, I would have died. As it was, I lived and had numerous complications.

When I finally came home, I could not get up, nor sit down, nor walk, etc. I spent a lot of time in front of the TV. Before 14.11.07, TV had not been one of my favorite things. The most interesting programs were the news, and stock market channels. While I had owned stocks for almost 50 years, I hadn't been interested enough to follow them.

Before, I was mentally tired when I was physically tired. After, I became physically tired long before being mentally tired. So the stock market became a therapy, a form of mental exercise.
