a real winner [or two] will no doubt arise eventually but I doubt its one of the companies we're currently hearing about. Any way, we can be certain the great majority of the current ones will be complete failures.

good luck to all, though. I like to speculate too...

good review of some would-be pot barons. thanks.

personally, I know these companies currently suck financially speaking--and NO ONE knows which [if any] will ever prove to be a good 'investment,' but even so I choose to speculate in some of these stocks [so far I'm actually ahead of the game due to the Feb-March irrational exuberance].

For more than 40 years pot has been an interesting ever-changing presence in my life. Back in the 60s and 70s it was the great underground secret vice of all the hip kids. We were told the usage would result in our brains rotting and dripping out our ears--but the kids were right and the establishment authorities were wrong. Pot is far less damaging than alcohol and its upside potential in health benefits and investment profits are just finally getting some well-justified attention.

So- admittedly these are not 'financially sound' reasons to buy a stock, BUT; many a foolish bet has turned into a bonanza and there is ample reason to believe pot, too, has a reasonable shot at a super-successful long-term legacy.

    Long potstocks!!!

there was a ridiculous bubble mid Feb to mid March. Some of us did very well, including Alan. His new service was making people a lot of money [so it seemed] but then it wasn't the great trading advice after all; IT WAS THAT HUGE F***ING BUBBLE!
And it finally popped. And that was inevitable and went just as it should have. And as all those new investors started rushing in just as the sector was crashing, suddenly there were a lot of people losing a lot of money--and so of course the hatred for the sector developed which we are still seeing. And, of course, it is natural to look for scape goats when our plans fall apart.
Some pot company will eventually make money and become an actual "investment" but all we can really do at the moment is speculate while we wait for some company to actually make money on pot.

ITs all good--just life--we live and learn--all will work out eventually. Good luck!

Duke-- well, I complained to Alan privately when 420Inv first started that there was not enough info for the buy-and-hold guy, that is to say, too much emphasis on trading instead of investing, blah blah blah

I know this; we generally see what we want or expect to see.

a year or so ago Alan mentioned GWPH as possibly worth a look and so after doing my DD I bought a bunch at $9 something per share. That has worked out very very well...[that was just SA chat, before 420Investor]

So--really every trader must make up their own minds. Pay subscriptions or not, invest or not, it's a free country, we're all adults, and its everyone for themselves...

interesting comments, Duke, especially if true :)

in Alan's defense I will say that 6 mo ago Everyone was picking winners in MJ, even me. Right now though, No one is picking winners because their are none.

Only time will tell the whole story...

steve--I agree, 420Investor subscription price is way too high; I dropped out for same reason.

Although, yes, A.B. has a lot to offer and is as honest as possible with everyone.
