World population has grown by 1 billion people in the last 12 years. Look at a world population graph since 1800 or so. It's the definition of exponential growth.

Inflation/Resource scarcity is my major thesis for the decades to come. I also like timber REITs and oil service stocks. Consumer staples may disappoint as costs grow and they are unable to pass along price increases.

  • 3 Outstanding Energy Sector Investments [View article]
Agreed. The oil service sector is one of the few remaining with growth potential. Short term I'm mostly out of the market while Europe has an Inception style slow motion crash, but I'm keeping an eye on this sector along with Timber REITs, fertilizer, and water distribution/treament. Back to basics is going to be a key theme as our modern depression unfolds.

  • Why Oil Will Soon Start To Rally [View article]
There is a lot of bad reporting out there. The US does not export oil, it exports finished products like diesel because demand has fallen below refining capacity. The fact is that the easy to find, easy to drill stuff is on its way out. Read the Hirsch Report which was buried by congress a few years back. Costs to find and extract oil are going up, the integrated oils will be spending more to make less. Oil service companies will be minting money. I've got my eye on IEZ.

  • Does Fed Action Really Affect The Price Of Gold And Silver? [View article]
PMs are absolutely manipulated by the Fed. Hot money Investors have lost interest in silver because the Fed made damn sure of it. Rising PMs make Bernake angry because it is evidence of currency debasement. If inflation shows up in steak, steak gets replaced by ground beef in the inflation index. If it show up in silver, silver gets whacked by JPM shorts.

Rising input costs + a strapped consumer = margin compression. I sold my Ford stock for the same reason.

Yeah I didn't fully explain that was meant as merely one anecdote of the increasing uses of silver.

$20 silver should be considered a gift. U.S. just moved 4900 smart bombs toward Iran, each containing 500 ounces of silver waiting to be instantly vaporized.

  • PPI Is Heating Up - And That's Not Cool [View article]
Jim Rogers is right, if the economy takes off you will make money in commodities, if things get worse they will print money and you will make money in commodities. Consumer staples won't save you in this recession. Watch their margins compress.
