Microsoft: Whistling in the Dark

The internet was very unstable until windows XP. This was not Microsoft's fault. The existing technology needed to become better. However, in my opinion, if Steve B doesn't make a commercial success of Windows 7, we stockholders will call for his resignation and/or dump the stock. Steve has inherited a company that could make a lot of money, and he hasn't performed for the stockholders.

Apple is a stock that doesn't pay a dividend so its going to experience a higher beta. It is a technology stock that depends on the vaguely perceptible future, again contributing to high beta. Finally, Apple is entwined with the mystique of Steve Jobs. His health is an unknown which also contributes to a high beta. If you invest in these kinds of stocks, even if blessed by Cramer, then expect a bumpy ride.
