Amen, notsosmart. Look at the values in quality stocks now - KO paying over 3.5%, JNJ, PG, SO - decent dividends and the PE's are lower than in many years. In the 90's I had money management - they ran up beautifully, but then crashed back to the amount put in, and charged a bundle in fees en route both up and down. I lost a bundle last year, but percentagewise no better or worse than mutual funds - and the dividends were mine to reinvest. DIY with an online broker for low fees, and stick to quality stocks.
