This is all very confusing. If the value of the asset (real estate) goes down how do you treat the mortage which, in theory, still holds its value. Should this not compensate for the loss in value of the asset (real estate). I have bonds which I do not mtm since I plan on holding them until they mature, I purchased them for income. Should I price them every day?
