What's New With the Kindle 2?

My wife and I own two Kindles. If you are an avid reader, it's a great device. But I think the price point is discouraging for most people.

For active readers who travel or have a non-driving commute, it's a godsend.

Time Warner Cable (TWC) says it will lay off 1,250 people over the next few weeks. TWC +1.7%.

This will, no doubt, improve their customer service issues.

If you think Apple's success is because they are a designer or status brand, you do not know much about the subject area.

Complex technologies like smart phones and computers are not commodities, and if you act like they are, I don't think you'll do very well investing in technologies companies.

Google (GOOG) gets cheap, and tacky, with year-end bonuses. Instead of what used to be ~$1,000 per employee, Google's handing out 20,000 G1s.

Got to do something with all that unsold inventory. Corporate recycling at its best!
