Axion Power Concentrator 236: May 15: Axion Power Releases Quarterly Report For The First Quarter 2013 [View instapost]
D. McH.---- I wasn't referring to the laugh after the "all of it" remark, but rather one that came after TG attempted to answer Berkowitz' first question. However, if no one else picked up on it, perhaps it's of no concern.

I also felt very positively about the call.
However, IMO it seemed as though the price went down as soon as Berkowitz laughed (somewhat derisively, I thought) at one of the answers TG gave (not the last question, but the first Berkowitz question, which TG seemed hesitant and somewhat unable to address). I'm sure someone will go back and re-listen and pick up on whether my interpretation of the tone of the laughter is accurate.

FWIW, I spoke with Rudy Barrio about an hour ago. He's not even aware of an April 30th date of any consequence, so for those of you considering calling to get additional information, you can skip Rudy. I'm not surprised----just suggesting that you need not bother with that call.

The emotional tone of the call was a bit flat, but perhaps that's just "us" hanging on every word and looking/hoping for something like TG said on a conference call last year---- " hang on to your seatbelts" ( or tighten your seatbelts).. If we look at what was said about international RFP's, and also consider the progress made in the last few months, it seems pretty positive. I think, as has been stated above, that TG has deliberately altered his choice of words a bit, and that we should not read anything too negative into all this.

Apologies if this has already been addressed-- During the call TG said that the product to be presented at the home show on Sept. 6th has "already received 2 awards". Can someone elaborate?

Stefan,
He actually cited the "wrong questions" asked of him--& they seem to be those that just don't deal with the issues Axion is attempting to solve. Best to have someone else who was present at the meeting--- & more attuned to "battery speak" than I am---spell out the specifics of his answer. Roger

Input on Meeting:
I ill leave the technical stuff to Rick and others. However, I came away very impressed with those presenting from Axion's Board and staff---- and Joe Piccarilli from Rosewater.
I asked one question related to "scientific" issues----specifically "what would a respected critic of this approach (i.e., a peer, an outside researcher) say in terms of potential non-financial problems that might derail Axion's efforts. Vani paused for about 15 seconds (an eternity), and finally said that he could not think of any science-based issues. However, he said that from his perspective one of the major issues going forward is the difficulty in "educating" (or rather -re-educating) people in the battery industry, who seem to have a rather rigid set of questions they ask--- when he (Vani) meets with them. "They ask the wrong questions", he noted. I asked the same question of their research director, Anders. His first remark was that he "wondered when I asked the question originally--- just how he would have answered." Then, he said he agreed with Vani's comment about education. He had no potential science-based problems. I wasn't sure when they were done, whether I was more or less comfortable with their answers, given that my training/background suggests that there are scientific shortcomings in all approaches (but--then-- I am in the social sciences). I cornered Anders afterwards and he said that he felt I was not satisfied with his answer. We spoke briefly---and I left with the impression that he is sincere in his answer above.
On a personal note---it was really cool to meet fellow Axionista's. You are all good guys. Roger

F-kru made an excellent point. Had the market declined gradually over a period of weeks, then 0.43 would have been viewed as a "bargain". But, with a sudden downdraft, and a 0.15 drop, panic and anger set in. The end result, however, is the same, and it's simply a matter of interpretation. The use of humor was a brilliant strategy--gets us away momentarily from the "fear factor", and allows us to regroup. The resilience on the Board is rather amazing. Assuming nothing is materially different with the "product", in a matter of months we may be able to look back at this with a "legitimate" sense of humor.
