at 76 i would rather watch grass grow than pour over stock data. i use the tot stk idx and concentrate on when. this allowed me to enter in sept02, exit jan08. re-enter in oct/nov/dec/feb09. a bit early but more time spent on it would not have made it better. wojmax
The Obama Fast Track for Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) [View article]
The farm community does not pay a fed gas tax on fuel for tractors used in the field. Not sure about state gas taxes. I have not seen the addition of road taxes added to any fueling charges for electrics which will decrease the 'savings'. You can bet they will be added.

CNBC, Not ready for Primetime.
Shortly after the attack at Bombay, Alex Witt commented, paraphrasing:one would have thought that since Obama had been elected, these types of attacks would stop. Naive in the extreme.
14 Stem Cell, Renewable Energy Opportunities for the Obama Era [View article]
In the paragraph below extracted from the article, what does the phrase, 'capable of making 1000MW turbines annually' mean? Making 1000 1MW turbines annually or what? anybody?
A good example of a US company investing in the China energy market is the joint venture between GE and A-Power Energy Generation (APWR). GE will supply over 2.4GW wind turbine products to A-Power starting 2009. A-Power has just completed a facility capable of making 1000MW turbines annually to meet the rapid demand in China as the government promotes wind energy as a major renewable energy source.
One statement I would take issue with is that when speaking of a lower CPI, 'A lower CPI means the government saves money'. While it is not too important to this article, in general it is very important. It is that government does not EVER save money. It simply spends less.
Your last para* does not make sense. There has been no success. You, the business, lost. Therefore, you get spanked by the feds and placed in the penalty box. Entities will be capped!
* They also propose breaking up “any institution that becomes too big to fail.” Hmmm. Again, that’s a lot easier said than done. Particularly when you consider that firms often (though not always) become large through success. Therefore the government has to effectively punish success. I have some issues with that.
