Is There an Opportunity in First Solar? [View article]
All near-future PV solar residential and small to medium business installations are now adversely impacted by state and national cut-backs in rebate and other incentive programs. We just had to at least postpone solar installation at our home in Massachusetts because on October 9 the rebate program was summarily killed due to budget problems. I have heard that Germany's very robust subsidies are toat as well.

The right's unassailable explanation for any objectively obtained scientific evidence of climate warm-up--" Undersea volcanic activity is doing it " --a plausible possibility but unprovable. What is clearly true is that our oil , natural gas , and coal deposits are not infinite and they WILL DIMINISH quickly when we get close to their practical exhaustion and END AS PROFITABLE ENERGY SOURCES so it is not a bad idea to do something now. So whether you lean left or right it is not a bad idea to get smart and stop being idealogues one way or another. Totally free enterprise will rape, pillage and destroy every acre of land and sea, and tree huggers will whine about mosquitoes dying. Lets get it right !!!!

For example, 80 billion barrels of oil is discovered in Brazil and the news is out they get the 2016 Olympics. Immediately EWZ goes nuts !!!! For awhile until Lula runs off with the money !!! These are crazy times !!!!
Comparing Today's Bank Crisis to the Past [View article]

This is different than the Great Depression, maybe on the downside of different.
Does anyone calculate the amount of overtime hours that have diminished in the last 2 years ? These figures also should be considered. I know from personal experience that an extremely large number of US postal workers who thrived on 10-20 hours of OT a week are now getting almost none as the USPS is somewhat desperately trying to stay afloat by cutting virtually all OT. It would be very interesting to see some stats and graphs on OT rates as well. USPS is in serious difficulty, by the way.
