Apple's App Store Numbers Continue to Amaze

The first paragraph of this article is total fiction. Apple absolutely built the Appstore with profits aforethought. The iPhone was not an "a ha" faster iPod, but a sniper shot at the smart phone market. Please give Apple some credit. Not too much as it goes to their heads, but certainly more than present in the article above.

Sorry, Zach. There's no treasury security that pays 2/28.8 in interest (7.09%). Not even the 30-year bond. But the interest is still a few hundred million. Nothing to sneer at when so many in the tech community are starving for cash.

Apple Leads the Charge for Tech

Mac Pro desktop sales fell in November and December because a new model will be announced in January. Mac Pro's are almost exclusively sold to businesses, and buyers are aware that the current Mac Pro is long in technology tooth. Mac Pro sales act like IBM mainframe sales, slowing dramatically a quarter before a new technology release. And Mac Pro desktops do not seriously compete with Mac laptops.

Are Netbooks the Future of PCs?

1. Netbooks are indeed disrupting the low-end PC market. No where is AMD mentioned, and they have taken a big hit from netbooks.

2. A netbook is OK around the house for email and surfing. A road warrior would not want a netbook due to limited storage, battery life, screen size, and product life.

3. Netbooks are cheap, and they are built cheap; they won't last four college years in a backpack. College kids need enterprise-class notebooks like Dell Latitude or Apple MacBook that cost more but are built to survive real life outdoors.

4. Agree a scaled up iPhone Touch would be a great Apple product.
