Thanks VW, interesting article, including the reference to an 88 lb 3-cyl engine by Nissan.
    ---
Jalopnik declared that 2014 will be the “year three-cylinder engines stop being weird,” and, presumably, wimpy. --- The Mini Cooper and the Fiesta SE both get highway mpg ratings in the 40s, and they’re not underpowered, with 134 and 123 horsepower, respectively. The new Mini does 0-60 in 7.4 seconds, 2.3 seconds faster than its 4-cylinder-powered predecessor.
    ---
When I see articles like this, including some of the amazing mpg forecasts, I can't help but wonder if the foregone conclusion that stop/start is the future may not necessarily be as foregone as many presume.

Based on their history, I sometimes wonder if Axion (TG) and East Penn may have some kind of gentleman's (or gentlewoman's) agreement on various matters, making some of our discussions on patent infringement, etc. immaterial. It's not difficult for me to imagine an expanded relationship at some point, most likely at a time Axion's core business takes off.

Billion003 --- "If my assumptions are correct the reverse split is going to drastically reduce the percentage ownership of present Axion shareholders of Axion"
    --
To clarify, a reverse split doesn't change the percentage of ownership one iota. It puzzles me how this notion ever got traction, and that so many on this board seem to believe it to be the case.

Maya, "One-off PbC sales are not the road to recurring and sustainable sales." — “I'm just not seeing these revenue streams developing anytime soon, at least not sustainable revenue streams.”
    --
As much as a picture of the NS 999 sets HTL's heart aflutter, the prospect of having a clear path to recurring and sustainable sales and revenue is what does it for me. If that was already a reality, ISTM we’d have a Mkt. Cap and pps at least five times where they are now. But since we’re not there yet, we have an opportunity to ride this thing up from current levels, which in my mind reflects a severely undervalued company.

A five-bagger may not happen soon, but I think a sizable uptick is possible before the next financing. So for now I hold. I even hold out the hope TG may deliver more in the next month or so on his infamous significant sales prognostications. If that were to happen, NS rolls out, we get listed on the NASDAQ, I see a potential pps double by the end of summer, especially now that the PIPRs are gone. Bottom line is I view the RS as a plus, and foresee much more favorable financing this fall than last time around.

IIRC, Vani predicted at the shareholders' meeting in late September, 2013 (8 mos. ago) the NS 999 would roll out the beginning of October, 2013. I still wonder how he could have been so wrong, given NS' need to recharge the batteries (and likely much more) in the following months to prepare for the upcoming June rollout.

Iindelco, when I first posted a new link, it didn't work for me either. So I went to this reliable URL shortener I sometimes use, and it worked like a charm.

Here's a snippet from the article:

"Its Prius was the first serious electric-gas hybrid, and it got its watts from batteries—the metal-hydride chemistry, at first, and now the more advanced lithium-ion kind. Last week, though, by letting its battery R&D alliance with Tesla Motors lapse, Toyota signaled that it is doubling down on the main alternative source of electric power. "The long-term play is going to be fuel cell,"...

IIRC, APH put out an admonition in the past month or so, something to the effect, “Knock it off, you know who you are”. My first reaction to that was it’s highly unlikely they know who they are. Human beings seem to be well-designed to see other people’s blind spots, but have very limited ability to see their own. In fact, they often see their own blind spots in others.

Given the extremely limited information we’re getting from the APH, I have no idea whether I would be considered a problem poster or not, and so I agree with Dance that the lack of clarity is disappointing. If we were given more color on reason/meaning/intent, perhaps I would know whether or not I’m a good fit for this APC. And if not, I would readily take my leave.

Given the limitations of people often being unable to take a subtle to not-so-subtle hint, my own suggestion to APH (if I may respectfully do so) would be to call out the problem posters, whether on the APC or in private. If it isn’t done, my best guess is that lack of clarity will continue, and the problems will continue. — Although this may be more effort than you are willing to make, and understandably so.

I hope this post doesn’t come across as adding to the problem. My intent is to try to do my part to come up with a solution, something I’m sure we would all like to see. --- I'd sure hate to miss out on all the whooping and hollering on the APC when things begin to turn in a major way, something we seem to be getting closer and closer to.

Thanks for the great post jveal, and I concur on virtually every point. So many irons in the fire; a lot of good reasons to assume we're at an important juncture.

The only reasons I can think of that the pps hasn't moved up is concern over the RS and/or the upcoming capital raise. Some of TG's assurances (that you pasted) takes a lot of that concern off the table for me. --- I sure wouldn't want to be on the sidelines with any of my shares the day the 999 rolls out.

RA, you seem to be assuming a 2nd PIPE deal would play out similarly to the first one, and would be preferable to trusting TG and the BoD with too many shares. If I'm reading you correctly, I would strenuously disagree with that assumption. I believe a 2nd PIPE deal would be an unmitigated disaster, and even a hint of it happening would set off a stampede of Axionistas heading for the exits, and I would be one of them.

If there was a 2nd PIPE, I think it would be highly unlikely for it to play out in a similar manner to the first one, where we got only a doubling of the share count. I think a 2nd PIPE would lead to a pps collapse, with the share count, instead of doubling to ~440M shares, would more likely end up at a billion+. And that might even be an optimistic scenario. — Realistically however, I think TG and the BoD most likely understand this, so it’s not even plausible it would happen.

I do think TG and the BoD are being foolishly tone deaf on this unduly large authorized share number request. I agree that for all practical purposes, there is little difference between 100M and the original 350M. While I believe and acknowledge there’s an element of risk associated with a 100M share authorization (post-RS), I believe it pales in comparison to the costs of having to secure financing while still listed on the OTC at a penny-stock pps.

I just wish TG would do the right thing and adjust the share authorization to a more reasonable number that most shareholders can agree on, and take this whole thing off the table. Though it doesn’t bother me a lot, it just seems to be causing a lot more trouble than it’s worth. While I'm frustrated by what I view as an unreasonable intransigence on their parts, it won't keep me from voting for the RS.

OR --- "I will be taking a break from commenting for a while. My frustrations have gotten the better of me lately and while I'm generally a very positive person..."
    ---
I went through something similar recently, and decided to take a break for a few weeks. What I realized during this time was that after initially being a big fan of TG, and often defending him and/or giving him the benefit of the doubt on a number of issues (pendulum too far in one direction), the pendulum swung in the opposite direction, and I found myself grumbling and posting way too much about some of my angers and frustrations.

I feel I've now reached a more balanced view on TG regarding both his strengths and weaknesses. His demeanor on the recent CC has made a big difference for me as well. I long thought he showed an element of disdain for his loyal shareholder base, never seeming to acknowledge the losses and frustrations we've endured, and seemingly not feeling he owed us explanations about unfulfilled initiatives that many of us had based important investment decisions on.

But his shout out to us on the last CC, which I felt was delivered with a sincere appreciation, and even a touch of humility, has made a big difference for me, not only in how I view him, but also how I view Axion’s prospects at this time. I think his subtle shift in demeanor is at least in part due to his seeing things finally beginning to turn in a meaningful way, and that we’re at long last going to start to turn some important corners. — Hopefully, this is a realistic appraisal, and not letting the pendulum swing too far back the other way again. :)

I always appreciate your posts, and look forward to you rejoining us again when the time's right.

RA: --- (from APC 333) "Anybody else have thoughts about the odds? I either have to lick my wounds now and reboard the train at a higher fare than I scalped my ticket for or wait for hopefully a cheaper ticket later in light of the 'ticket printing' to come. Tough decision. I hate buying higher than I sold!"

Hey RA, your above words got me to thinking about odds, and were part of what prompted my earlier lengthy post. Like yourself, I "dunno" either, and can only guess. It just "feels" to me that the NS rollout could be a real game-changer, plus there's the potential for other incremental news to bolster confidence. OTOH, we could go into another sales and news drought. But IMO, the odds favor the former, which is why I added this past week.

RBrun: "I can't wait for this coming week, will this be the week that Axion stock finally turns the page and starts the next chapter? It sure is feeling like that to me!"

Ditto on that one. --- I'm anticipating that as the totality of the cc starts to sink in, many will decide the risk/reward ratio is heavily tilted toward the reward side at this time.

The cc shifted my thinking in a major way, and now view the odds of the pps going down more than a penny or two in the near-term to be remote, and quite insignificant compared to the upside potential.
