Seems like a lot of trouble for $465 in profit, plus at least 2 trades would yeild less "net" than trading costs and 4 others are at best borderline breakeven after trading costs. What would the "net" have been if the puts were simply sold and the premiums pocketed? Selling the calls to take advantage of any large upside move seems like a good idea but on average the stocks would have to move 10+% to simply hit the strike price (from Tuesdays close) meaning very few of these selections, if any, will provide additional profit from the calls. Plus the capital put "at risk" by selling the puts totals $73900, thats a lot of money to put at risk to earn $465.

ETFs by their nature cannot be "closed to new investors". ETFs are traded just like stocks, indeed they are stocks. If you want to buy an ETF you can buy it as long as it is listed on an exchange. An ETF has to be listed on an exchange to be an ETF. Therefore no ETF can be "closed" unless it ceases to exist (ie. is delisted).
