    Dale,

I couldn't agree more. Rules were made to be broken in my opinion. Flexibility with rules/guidelines when investing can open a plethora of great and solid investment opportunities. David Fish's "frozen angels" is at step in the right direction.

Retired. Own both and satisfied with returns. Eaton Vance CEF's are a godsend.

  • Scanning The SA Family For Alpha: Rosenose  [View article]
IMHO putting "your money where your mouth is" is always more potent than "talk is cheap", especially when dealing with the internet. So my vote would be yes for question number 1 and no for the rest.

RS and Rose are great contributors with interesting and stimulating thoughts!

  • Bank Of America: There Is Still Time To Ride This Bank Way Up  [View article]
I like a good bargain and BAC may be in that camp. However, as a service oriented company, they fail miserably in customer satisfaction. Maybe "too big to fail", but not" too big to disappoint". I will pass on this one.

RS - good to see you writing again. I enjoy and appreciate your thoughts,.

  • Eaton Vance Enhanced Equity Income Fund II For Steady Monthly Income  [View article]
I'm in total agreement with you. I have had a full position in EOS since 2011 and have enjoyed the steady and reliable monthly income. I also have positions in 3 other Eaton Vance funds (ETO, ETY, and EVT) which have helped with diversification over my total portfolio. Some use options, others leverage but all are well managed and appreciated by this retired investor.

    Robert,

You mention two dividend decreases for Allete. As a long time holder of the stock, I believe one of the decreases was due to the the company's spinoff of it auto auction business Adesa. Not sure about the other one.

I'll have to agree with funfun on this one. Management has not had shareholders interest as a priority for quite some time. Period.
