Ah, but there's a dividend while we wait for a take-off. That beats eBay any day.

The possessive form of "its" does not have an apostrophe, which denotes a contraction for "it is." Screwing up the headline undermines credibility for details you've worked to assemble in this report. Just sayin'...

"Apple dropping it like a rock" ... "Everyone in California" .... hyperbole fails to make your case.

Am long T and recently have upped stake on a dip, mainly because of appealing dividend. How do you define "less than compelling dividend growth"?

Yeah ... I didn't get that either. Plus, if a specific taxable account is earr-marked for heirs, the date of death of the account-holder for the TOD will be the cost basis. Much ado about not much.

  • Philip Morris: An Excellent Retirement Stock Hiding In Plain Sight [View article]
A reassuring report. I add on dips from time to time, and also have both MO and PM enrolled in dividend reinvestment in one account. Am not a smoker, but as long as people are going to light up, I'm happy to profit by the habit.

  • Why Instagram Is Facebook's Ticket To The Moon [View article]
An interesting perspective. Am much older than you and actually was working for an internet company in 2004 when I first heard of Facebook. It was soon clear to me that this was the future and that both MySpace (and the company I worked for) represented the past. My assessment has proven true.

  • Orange Is The New Green [View article]
Got into Orange back when it was FTE because of the ultra-high dividend. In retrospect that was a mistake for a variety of reasons. There's been a big cut in dividends (which, btw, are paid only twice a year, and a downward spiral in price. Recent upticks haven't made up for the plunge. Foreign taxes paid make it more difficult to compare to similar investment dollars put into, say, T, VZ or CTL. Finally, it's difficult to follow with comparatively scant coverage. I sold some in one account at a profit at $13.35, and look forward to unloading the rest in December. This may be a good investment for more sophisticated investors, but not for me.

  • Why I Prefer AT&T To Apple [View article]
Am long AAPL in a comparatively small position, and long T in a far greater position, and your report reassures that the proportion is appropriate for me. Thanks. .

  • Why You Shouldn't Sell Apple Just Yet [View article]
I seriously doubt the photo with the hillybilly ignorant "I wouldn't sell Apple if I was you" quote came from Tim Smith or his PR team. It's "if I WERE you" and Tim Smith is sufficiently astute to know it.
