Wald. you seemed to be confused. There is NO stagflation hitting the country. You put too much emphasis on debt. For almost 6 years folks like you have been crying the end of the world about the fed and the interest rate. How much longer can you be wrong? The FED is right, Ben is right. he did the right thing. Austerity does not work. See the Eu for confirmation of that fact. Yea, I know, any day now we are sucked into the abyss. Yawn. Did you vote for Romney too?

People with $200,000 in investments profits? That is the old 1% again. People with money just don't understand. 99% of retirees DO NOT make $200,000 in profits from investments. Not even close.

Smokey can you get off the liberals are holding this up. Alternative green energy is the future, NG is the future also. Liberals, however so defined are a little more cautious about this. let's remember your good buddies at those multinational oil companies do not have a great record of safety. Fracking is great until the water supply is forever polluted. And your BFF over at the coal companies are working day and night with their LOL "clean energy." Believe it or not we are running out of crude and NG. Not in our lifetimes but in your grandkids.
Capt, you have been sleeping on too many pool tables. How long can you blame the government and Obama? It seems the conservatives (may I include you?) just will not believe the jobs numbers or anything related to good news on the economic front. The economy is not steaming ahead but it is not sliding into the abyss. The Americans and the FED have done the right thing. Yea, believe it or not. I am in Europe (not sleeping on pool tables) and the EU is going the wrong route with austerity. The funny thing here is there is NO austerity. The Euro is strong (tell me about it) and there are no real estate deals, no mass shops closing and, it is sort of strange.

Greece? The problems there are not related to gold production. Unless the country spins into civil war and riots in the streets Greece is, believe it or not, safe. Now if the workers at the company go on strike, that is a different problem. Contrary to all the never-ending bad news about Greece they are muddling through. There are no running gun battles with police or national strikes. The price of gold is the most important factor.

Foretelling the future is damned hard to do, especially what is the price of crude an how much liquid is in the ground. Fret and worry about esoteric tax codes, drilling techniques and possible whatevers and scenarios, well the whole bloody thing is over analysed. My eyes glazed over with charts Let's come back here in, say, 2025 and see who is right. I say it is a buy.

The naysayers of global warming remind me of tobacco advocates that kept saying there is no science that smoking cause cancer, sickness and bad health. Smoking is unhealthy and will kill you. There is overwhelming scientific evidence, (as well as common sense ideas) that gee golly, climate change is real and we are the cause of it all. The skeptics want to keep using coal and burning petrochemicals. . Naysayers of alternative energy science only look ignorant and closed minded. A faith based life of burning oil and coal is death. Kind of like smoking cigarettes.

The big picture boys and girls, the big picture. Focus in, not get into a pissing. i spent several months in Spain and this my takeaway. What austerity? Sure we hear all about the 25% unemployment and hard shio, but I don't and didn't see it. The banks are not taking away cars. Try to find a parking space on the street in any city in Spain after 10 a.m..No mass closing of shops. The Spanish have an interesting work ethic. They roll into work around 10 a.m. take a 2 hour lunch break at 12:30 and work till 6. Ah, the good life. Yes, there are apts for sale but no deals---I looked.

You guys over think this trust. They have working pumping wells. The price of oil and NG will rise. There are years left for the wells to go dry. Buy for a few years and sell. 3% to 5% return is chump change
I am in Siena Italy and have traveled for the last 8 months in most of Europe. Here is my take on the situation: What austerity? There is NO austerity in the countries I have been in. There are no empty shops in Italy for example. They are still selling snickers for $150, sun glasses for $125 and expensive watches. The restaurants have cut back to the point that you get no food. A meal here cost $3- a person and you get little for the money. There are NO values in the EU, except wine. Gas is around $6-$8 a gallon, the streets are clogged with cars, people smoke here constantly and cigarettes are over $4 a pack. There is no such a thing as car pooling in Italy. Try to find a parking space on the street in any Spanish city after 10 a.m. You cannot buy a house in Ireland, Spain or Italy at a reduced rate. The banks have not foreclosed and do not sell like the USA at 30% discount. All this leads to to something is really wrong with all this EU austerity talk and reality. You hear about all the unemployment in Spain and there are very few beggars. What austerity? In Spain they go to work at 10 a.m. take a 3 hour lunch break at 12:30 and work till 6 or so. The Europeans have yet to feel the pain. (I didn't go to Greece so they do not factor in my equation) What austerity? Where?
