  • Santander: Interesting Developments In Brazil Do Not Change The Outlook [View article]
SAN is the golden boy who has not delivered the promise. Any dividend has been wiped out by the fall of the PPS and the dilution of shares over the years.

  • Score 9.18% Yields With Parker Drilling's B1/B+ Rated Bonds, Maturing August 2020 [View article]
Having cash is always good, but there is no end to OPEC's death by crude suicide. the bonds might be OK, but the company and the oil industry, not to mention the states of Texas and Oklahoma are not out of the woods. OPEC "could" increase production or keep production high for another year OR TWO, then your rosy scenario would be not be so rosy. All that cash will be spent by the company servicing debt and their income will be zilch. A company cannot lay off workers forever to improve the bottom line. Good article as usual.

  • Fitbit: 4 Data Points That Should Spook Optimistic Shareholders [View article]
I have an opposite view of Fitbit. It is the canary in the mine. It is the final irrational top of a bull market. The product is a gimmick. Way overpriced and will be superseded quickly by the evil empires of Google, Apple and Samsung.

  • Argentina At A Crossroads [View article]
One sentence in your post is.... unusual:

The issue is countries are taking advantage of the bad valuation of sovereign debt due to the simplified and poor understanding they teach in school.

So in Accounting 101 they teach what kind of accounting principles in school? I have not studied accounting ( in Argentina) perhaps you can enlighten us all what that means.

  • Immelt: U.S. retreat from Ex-Im, trade will cost jobs [View news story]
Haters out in force in posts above. Too bad they are just haters and arch conservatives with no idea how the real world (this is a WORLD economy now guys) works. The USA cannot go back to the 1950s, sorry it is not possible. protectionism doesn't work. If you do make it back to the 1950s say hello to Wally and the Beaver for me.

  • 'Taper Tantrum' Round 2? It's More Serious For Stocks This Time Around [View article]
Wrong, businesses have not cut employees to get around Obamacare. That is tea bagger nonsense and myth. The only hazard we have to the medical health system is the wacko GOP conservatives return to the status quo before Obamacare---you know, going bust in slow motion. One way or the other UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE is the future, not some voucher system or tax deduction for health costs. The GOP has no plan but say no and believe Obama is a Kenyon----35% of the GOP still believe that. The GOP is bankrupt with zero ideas how to solve problems except tax cuts. See Kansas and Louisiana for how well that is working.

Interest rates will rise and all will be OK. Now go ahead and panic when they rise from .25 to .5 OMG!!! Like it or not, and believe it or not, but the FED has been and will continue to be right. Before you respond make sure you are not one of those and doom and gloom types who have been calling for the end of the world for 7 years...and been wrong all the time. Yea, I know, any day now we all go into the abyss. Yawn. Wake me.

  • Ominous Signs For Gold And Silver [View article]
God love the Chinese, but using them for market trends is wrong. They are a people who looks upon the stock market as gambling and we all know NOBODY gambles more than the Chinese. Like many people they think gold will be worth something if the end of the world comes. If they abyss comes only water, food and shelter matter.

  • Time To Bank On Frost Bank [View article]
I just love the hysteria about rising interest rates. It is at ,25 and will "skyrocket' to .50. Rates will MODESTLY rise. The FED and Janet are right and prudent. The rates willnot go from .25 to 6% overnight. Banks know this and have learned their lesson via 2008.

Fish, I have been hearing that OLd argument since 2008 that PRINTING MONEY is evil. Yawn. As opposed to doing nothing---the conservative argument. Also for 8 years there has been dire warning of the END OF THE WORLD for the USA, that any second now we spin out of control into the abyss. Again, all I can say to you doom and gloom cons is Yawn. FEd and Ben were right. Wake us all when the end comes.

  • Eight Things We Think We Know About Puerto Rico [View article]
Interesting article, i learned something. You cannot convince certain people--no names--- that taxes are not high. These are the same people against Puerto Ricans moving to the USA and knowing everyone is on welfare. It is good to know that not everyone is PR is on a boat to NY.

I have to join the chorus wit many posters above. Dick is a smart nice pleasant man who has been wrong way too many times. I remember his Citibank comments and many other times. As a baseball player he would be batting his weight number.
