"New technology should allay any fears of water contamination"...
What new technology? Is it only one day old? As about 2 days ago, Chesapeake Energy dropped plans to drill in the Catskill Mountain area of New York due to water contamination fears of everyone in the area. And they could not guarantee their tech won't pollute.

GMGMQ.PK is NOT the stock symbol for General Motors Company. Neither is MTLQQ. General Motors does not have any stock available to the public. They plan to issue shares sometime next year.

  • Cramer's Lightning Round - How Hudson City Is Like a Cereal Stock (8/24/09) [View article]
Cramer said: - Suntech Power (STP), Yingli Green Energy (YGE), First Solar (FSLR): "These stocks are out of fashion right now...they should all be moving. If oil goes to $80 you are going to say "Why didn't I pull the trigger?"

Does anyone know Mr. Cramer's e-mail address. He doesn't seem to realize solar power is used to create power for street lights, buildings - stationary objects. Oil is used to create power for cars, trucks, trains and planes. So the solar power companies will not "be moving" until the price of natural gas, coal, and nuclear power goes way up. The companies he mentioned are not connected to the price of oil.

  • GM's Chevy Volt Should Help Recapture Market Share [View article]
Mr. Brand, please do not use GMGMQ.PK as a ticker symbol for the current General Motors Company. They do NOT have stock yet.
Also another responder mentioned "GMGMQ.PK is the ticker symbol representing Motors Liquidation Co, " No it is not. To attempt to avoid confusion about the "old" General Motors CORPORATION and the "new" General Motors COMPANY" the old GM's name was changed (as mentioned by the other responder) to Motors Liquidation Corp. The ticker was also changed to MTLQQ.PK.
I have been finding out there is still a lot of confusion over this situation.

PS: Instead of spending money on Jatropha and biodiesel, imo we should work on cars running on algae based biogasoline (carbon neutral), until hydrogen can be perfected and big-rig trucks running on natural gas.

  • Jatropha Feedstock Developments [View article]
I disagree with your comment "Today, right now renewable biodiesel / diesel is the real answer moving us away from fossil fuels -- "
You say Jatropha's oil content is 40%. As BP said "the plant needs crop like growing conditions to truly flourish." I have read that means to get to that profitable 40% oil content, the plant need a lot more water than anyone figured. Therefore to be profitable, it needs to take land away from food crops. I also read several growers are giving up on Jatropha because they won't see a profit for at least 10 years, not 4 or 18 months as you said.
Many months ago, buried on the bottom of the inner pages of my local newspaper, was a story about how dirty biodiesel still is, and it should not be called a "clean fuel." Visible soot maybe less than petro based diesel, but biodiesel still creates nano-sized pieces of soot that easily enters peoples lungs and stays in there (unlike large visible soot that can be coughed out). The scientist quoted in the story was worried about a large increase in lung cancer if diesels become popular. This should be studies now, before it may become a major health problem.

  • Cramer Needs to Apologize [View article]
I agree with amyers and with Ray's comment "but there is no way you can make an informed decision on a stock in 15 seconds" but I disagree with Ray's insinuation that that is all the time Cramer spends on researching a stock. Remember at the beginning of the show he says something to the effect "I have 2200 (it may not be the exact number but its more than I research) stocks in my head..." Also, sometimes I have heard him say that he is not familiar with such and such stock and he will check it out and announce his comments in a future show. So he does NOT blindly give a buy or sell recommendation after only 15 seconds of research.
Also, if he did a follow up "I said buy buy buy two months ago well now its time to sell" segment on every buy stock mentioned on the show there wouldn't be very much time to do anything else on the program. He covers that by often saying "Do you homework,... research each stock you own for at least one hour per week." He can't hold your hand forever, he wants you to be your own investor or if you insist on being a "do it all for me" type, than go visit a professional in person.
PS: I am not a "fan" of Mr. Cramer. I think he is a clown who doesn't know that the opposite of Buy and do your homework is not Buy and Hold but Buy and Forget.

  • Obama Announces List of Grant Recipients, Recognizing Significance of Hybrid Markets  [View article]
John, please don't continue the confusion of "uninformed" investors by stating the symbol for General Motors is GMGMQ.PK. That is the old symbol for the now Motors Liquidation Company (MTLQQ.PK). General Motors Company has no common stock.
PS: Even though it has been in most news media for months, I still get inquiries about "Should I still keep my General Motors stock (or buy MTLQQ) because I think it will recover."

  • Lithium-Ion Batteries for Hybrid Vehicles? [View article]
I would like to add a correction. The "new General Motors" does not yet sell stock to the public. The symbol given (GMGMQ) is for the old General Motors Corp., now known as Motors Liquidation Company. Trading in that stock has been halted (and will soon be canceled) because so many people think it is the stock of the new General Motors Company.

  • How to Determine Value of Alternative Energy Stocks [View article]
John, yiour posting of 1/26 9:56 am included "I don't talk about the rest of the AE world because with the exception
    > of biodiesel and nuclear I don't have enough expertise ..." I am concerned about biodiesel. A few months ago, in the NY Times buried deep inside was a small story about bio- and petro-diesel emission. It said bio-diesel's visible soot pollution, which can be coughed out of the lungs, is much less than petro-diesel's but they both emit the same amount of nano-sized soot which stays in (and eventually clogs up) the lungs. Do you have any more info on this pending health problem (with many people wanting to increase mpg by using diesel cars)?

  • A Fuel Debate Between T. Boone Pickens vs. Fred Smith [View article]
Months ago, I notice a story buried deep within my local newspaper about the new clean diesel engines emitting a lot less (if any at all) visible soot. But, it mentioned the clean diesel (using petro - or bio-diesel) still emit nano sized particles of soot that sticks in people's lungs and can not get "coughed out." This can cause many respiratory problems. I would like to see much more written on this potential (with a country full of diesel cars and trucks) major health problem.
