  • Tesla's Obscenely Expensive Cure For Range Anxiety [View article]
I agree if people want to support Tesla they should buy one. However the government should not be in the business of supporting either Tesla or their customers.
Further more they have never provided any proof other then they claim that electric cars will help global warming.
The government should be providing the research as to ways to reduce the importing vast amounts of oil from countries that are bankrupting our country as well as costing loss of thousends of lives.
There are many who support the use of natural gas resources that are available from North America

Hi Mike another good article . Have you done any studies that refute that the decline rates are going to make Baken a short lived oil prospect ? I have seen none yet.
CLR looks like they are ready to start a serious effort to start drilling on second and third levels which would add thousends of new prospects and they will drill from same pads

  • A Closer Look At Intel's 2013 Outlook [View article]
I doubt Intel will share what a lot of that capx is being spent on other then products that have been already been disclosed. AMD tried to out design Intel and lost. When the Tablet will do what notebooks will do as well as offer their current features my guess Intel will be there. I use a tablet and its great but it cannot compete with a notebook.

  • Bakken Crude: The Refiners' Top Choice [View article]
One of the main beneficiaries is HFC they have a number of refineries that receive oil from Bakken and western Canada. I feel refinery of the size proposed Hyperion refinery located in SD would provide a closer outlet for both Bakken and Canadian crude. HFC is very profitable already. It's proximity to both Midwest and West coast markets has already shown the value of additional refinery capacity as well as it would increase the profits for producers in Bakken and nearby areas of MT and CO. The problem is not the business plan but politicians and environmental groups who are more interested in their agenda then the security of USA.

  • Lithium-Ion Batteries Were A Bust, But Advanced Lead-Acid Batteries Are Booming [View article]
I think you have done a great job of summarizing the state of the battery industry. You will never convince the solar, windmill and electric people that they are wrong.
There's another way to look at the industry, the growth of these industries has created a market for fixed energy storage systems to stabilize the electric output as any unstable output of electricity will not work.

  • Bakken Crude: Buffett's Railroad Beats ONEOK's Pipeline [View article]
I think they lost to EEP!! EEP just announced San Piper which will increase takeaway to 540000 BL's a day by 2016 it was oversubscribed. Pipelines will continue to compete until then. Rail will fill the shortages and for special requirements. Pipeline will win in the end much cheaper and safer.

  • Bakken Crude: The Refiners' Top Choice [View article]
I believe CLR and WLL show data as to the price differentials for their crude. At one point they were selling at a discount to to WTI. Since all this is a moving target and has been improving. The newest release on San piper by EEP indicates cost will continue to drop as more infrastructure is in place The latest I have seen is that takeaway capacity exceeds production of 700000 Bls/day
